V52 was the one involved in the tree incident and broke it's nose. They want the paint to cure before putting the decal on.

@Game4Yonas Thanks. These trains don't go fast. Maximum speed is 70 MPH (112 KPH) or so. Before arriving to the station, they do 40 mph (60KPH). The USA is behind High Speed comparing to the rest of the world.

A conductor on a morning train said it is illegal to cross the tracks and that police are aware and will prosecute, which is why their is a fence between the tracks at this station and at Woodbridge

@davinp In Alexandria, you see it all the time. This one guy was really closed to the locomotive guy, that is why train blew the horn

VRE is one of the best commuter roads operating right now. Love all the new equipment although I'll miss the RP39s once they all go. I'll be back to get more pic of these next week.

@MrConraal I agree, and they have plans to expand more service. I like the new locomotives, but will missed the old GP39's GP40's and F40's. They have four MP36's at the moment. I missed one.

Not a fan of VRE. Needs more service and possibly add some weekend in there. Not to mention its operating mostly on two track systems with them giving a blowjob to CSX.

@msmith624 VRE is one of those commuter rail that doesn't get enough attention. Cars are super clean, staff are amazing, and the equipment is much better now. Comparing the Metra cars and the VRE, the seats are much better. Yes, they do need weekend service. I agree on that.

Excellent video! I've always thought that the MP36s were some of the coolest passenger locomotives out there, but they look even cooler in the VRE paint scheme. They sound great too.
