OMG! Thanks for taking me back to the old Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, circa 1960's, where DC and the Hot Nuts traveled with the girl group "the Cherries!" Got grounded everytime I went and it was worth it. "See that girl dressed in green..." and "Nuts, hot nuts...you get 'em from the peanut man, yeah yeah..." GREAT POST!
The next time I'm out on the town, I'm gonna use this line : "Baby Let me bang your box" .... sure you have to deliver it right to "seal the deal" and it could back fire, but It will bring much laughter, so it's worth it!
I love this you ought to make a video with baby let me bang your box part one and two in the same vidoe I'd like to hear them back to back i love doug clark and the hot nuts.
@turborock77 Their vinyl albums and singles are rare and collectible. I was lucky to find this Jubilee 45 graded near mint and a single with The Bangers' version of the song on the R&B label, also in near mint condition. Thank you for your comment, my friend!
@sfratpack Nice find! My Nuts To You LP was pretty played out when I got it. The sound isn't very strong (if that makes sense.) I'm not sure if mine is just worn down or if all the records were like that, but it's a great album nonetheless. Love album cover too with Prince giving the finger! Priceless!
Were these guys also capable of serious stuff, or only off-color novelties. I have nothing against risque stuff, actually I like it, but if I were a performer, I'd like to not be remembered for one thing only.
Doug Clark & the Hot Nuts released a string of frat rock albums chock-full of naughty novelty numbers. I'm sure they were capable of handling serious material but they seemed quite content to base their reputation on dirty ditties like this one.
I first heard this when I was a teenager and had to have it. They wouldn't sell it to me at Stewart's Record Shop in Norfolk, Va , so I did the next best thing... I Mail Ordered it!!! Heh-Heh-Heh
False! I hear it often because I also have this 45 (LOL). I play it a little bit now, a little bit later, a little bit in between. Baby, you know what I mean (LOL). Thanks for your comment!
Thank you for posting this. I requested for people to upload their stuff in a video a while back. I just uploaded some of the Panty Raid LP. Good stuff. Thanks again.
To EVERYBODY...if you have any of their stuff, share it with us please!
I own the original 45 and had it professionally transferred to CD for upload here. From what I've read the album version of this song is considerably different.
My father showed me this back in the early 90s, when I was just a wee little kid... Oh, I do believe that explains a lot about me.

Lessons learned:
You gotta fight... for your right... to party.
Where there's a will there's a way.
Can't stop the rock.

We used to play this song at college bars and everybody sang along. The drunker the louder. Like to go back and bang the ones I missed.
