HD4850 Gameplays - ATI Ping-Pong DX10.1 Demo

i tried to run this with my hd 3200 but it didnt start. wasn´t this supposed to be for the 3000 series and why cant i run it

it's on the ati website, but it's not a stright forward link, what i do is search for "ati tech demo" it would lead me to at least one tech demo link and tehn find HD3800 tech demo from there

HD4850 is DX10.1 Hardware support, and Ping Pong demo is showcase of Direct 10.1 features, so if u can run pingpong then u are running it with dx10.1 features. also, u must have Windows Vista

hi again,i have downloaded the ping pong demo and installed it and it doesnt work.i load it up and then it says its not responging and closes down,i have reinstalled it several times and still nothing ..any tips?

I don't think so, they write codes to prevent other company's card to run, in case of if they run better. that happened to nvidia b4, some able to mod so Radeon 9700 can run some of the FX series demo or something, so it perform better then FX series itself back them , i can be wrong in details , but something like that

You need to get a new video card (only ati makes them yet) to get dx 10.1. I don't think there is big difference between them.

it is interesting stuff, too bad many ppl got bad opinions about this demo, they expected too much out of dx10.1, i mean, it's a 0.1 differece from dx10 lol

Well, as explained in the promotional video concerning this demonstration, there are some pretty significant improvements concerning shadowing/lighting, that really add to the overall plasticity of the picture, especially when there are many objects. But since the improvement ist subtle enough to be taken for granted and the demo doesn't, unlike previous ones, focus on eyecandy and prettyness, people may turn it down because they simply don't have an eye for details.
