the only thing i can suggest is to contact nokia and ask them. if you have already updated the firmware then there must be something else wrong.

it depends what you want. it touch screen is you main interest then the 5800 would be your choice. if its having a good camera then the n79 would be the one for you. the 5800 has a better battery life. so if you going to use it as a mp3 player then the 5800 would be better.

i have had a look. the best thing i can think of is to try ebay or amazon. there are alot of places in the uk that do them but you would have to think about shipping costs. the only other thing would be to ask nokia and see what they say.

the 6700 is cheaper but in price you loss in quality. the video only shots 15fps where as the n79 does 30fps. the n79 isnt that much more and i think you get alot more for your money. i would go for the n79

it depends what files they are. you could try formatting the card from the phone. some files wont open on phones. hope this helps

but one problem when i bought my mobile i got 4 gb card.. in that 1 gb was full of default ringtone,cites and other some thing.. so after formating that all are going to erase.. so is there any connection between memory card and gps(maps)..because in memory card 1 folder is there with the name of "cites" around 215 mb.. so after formating that folder will also going to delete.. i am afraid that after deleting my gps will not work.. i think so

mine works ok. maybe a firmware update might help. you could ask on the nokia forums they might be able to help. i dont use it as much but i still love it.

I bought my black N79 a week ago, and I love it! It's absolutely amazing. I upgraded from the N73. This phone is incredible with all the features that the top Nseries phones have. The N79 "tops the N95 in features" and is the "thinnest Nseries phone to date".

I think it's also the most stylish!

And yes it was very very hard to find the black N79, as I had to journey all over Damascus, Syria until i found it! It's very beautiful and I feel lucky to own this rare black N79! Not found in US btw

It is the Nokia N79 black color AKA (The black Edition), pretty charming mobile and its black color simply awesome!

I own one and honestly it is hard to find such color for the N79, the common colors are the white and dark gray one. If you need the black one, then you need to search well for it, or it could be a good idea if you know a good seller which can reserve it for you in case it will be available at his shop.

the n95 is a good phone but 8gb is all you get. the n79 has a 4gb card when you buy it. and as you can see in this video the video capture is a lot better.

i think if you want a slide phone then go for the n95. if you want a candybar the the n79 is the choice for you. if it was me i would stick with the n79

if you want a really good camera but a naff video then go for the c901

if you want an average camera and a really good video capture then go for the n79

i would suggest the n79. the problem with xenon is it may be great for taking photos but when it comes to video normally you cant even use the xenon flash.

the n79 has great video capture and it takes good photos and you can use the flash with the video. in this video i think i show how good the flash is.

i have had a look at the c901 and the reason i said that SE where behind the rest is because of the video capture. lg, samsung and nokia even in some of there cheap phones have better video than the C901. the nokia 6220 classic for example. ok so the c901 does have a flash on it but as far as the video is concerned its still lacking. i did have a look at some samples but they where not as good as say the n95 8g or the n79 or even the lg secret.

yes, most of the features of the N95 without the hiccups (well, more often than not).

And yes, a lot of ppL point out how the N82's better because of xenon, but you cant leave the xenon on for night time video capture. And maybe if you update ur firmware you'll get your clock to stay on.

the camera is a little bit better on the n82. but the n79 is meant to be the upgrade from the n82. i would say get the n79. the software is newer. the phone its self is newer and you get the changeable backs which are great. if it was me and it was, i would go for the n79. good luck

you can update the firmware by using the nokia updater. you can get this from the nokia website. you will need the product code which is on the back under the battery. to check your firm ware type in *#0000#.

you need to be carefull. if your phone is branded then you can only update to the version they have aproved. you can change the product code and update to the latest but there is a chance that you might kill your phone. you just need to be carefull.

Hey thanks i got it figured out. I live in Canada but bought the phone from India. I took out my SIM card and memory chip and checked for updates VIA wireless internet. I got the version 20.14 i belive or something similar to that and it didnt kill my phone :) that was the only thing i was worried about! Do you know what the biggest changes are with this firmware?

if u guys are turning your back to n82 and going for an n79, then u are making the ultimate sacrifice. because even though n82 maybe a little older, no other s60 v3 nokia phone can still beat it.. it's got better hardware and more stable firmware. all in all i should say its one of the higest specced nokia phones, and it clearly puts the n79 to shame!!!

Have you found any way for the phone to display the power saver screen longer than the .5sec it seems to default. I set the power saver at 10sec and the light at 60sec. and it still times out as soon as the power saver shows up. Any ideas?

i looked into this problem and at the moment there is no way round it. i think alot of people who own the n79 are hoping it will be sorted in the next firmware update. if i find a way i will let you know

sorry. i dont know why i didnt. i have tried the differant settings. i think that the higher settings the phone struggles a little to cope with it but when i played the video back on my computer the sample played fine. i am not sure why it does this. i tend to keep it on the second setting as it saves space and i dont get the lag. it might be sorted out in the next update.

i had this problem when i got the n79. i have heard that the n85's build quality isnt that great.

i suppose its what kind of phone you want. the n85 came out with the n79. but the black version is a new version. i like the n79 because its a candybar shape and i have sort of gone of the slides.
