These dulcimers are great. I've got one I found in an old steam chest looks a lot like yours. It must be over a hundred years old by now and fragile but still sounds awesome. They're a lot of fun and easy to play.
Great intro video! I remember seeing one (or something similar) about 20 years ago and built one for myself. Give it tied gut frets and friction pegs and you'd have something very close to a Persian Setar!
to be honest i don't like the sound of the "gramd" strumsticke but if your into it its nice i bet it's fun to play with but it look and sound 2 simple 4 me =)

its like a guitar dulcimer mix. frankly i dont think it gives you much creative freedom.. but it is a great starter i bet.
