Whenever I see a "realistic" 3D rendering, I can tell it's CG right off the bat, but this is the most realistic 3D rendering I've ever seen! I almost thought you were showing us a real life comparison video at the start!
GIVE US FUCKING QUANTUM COMPUTING RIGHT NOW OR ELSE! Imagine the possibilities! I really hope it happens in my life time omg games would be so awesome! Even just computers using light would be cool, 1000 times faster than what we got now, but quantum omg endless possibilities!
Hi, really cool video. How long did it take you to program (roughly) and also how long did your PC take to render it. I have an i7 920@ 3.8Ghz (stable in prime 95) {it's quad core} but only 6Gig of Ram and 2 x Hd5870's (I'm a gamer) but I dont think graphics cards make much difference to this? Could I do stuff like this on my PC you think? Also would I need quite a deep knowledge of the software?
@MrMadisun I doubt that. All they need to do is get a CPU and GPU strong enough to render it real time, then find a way to make it reasonably priced. :p
@theatomizer But the thing is that there isnt any technology power full enough out yet or for some time that will real time renders. If that whole render took say 1 hour and that's a big underestimate, then how would you get that to work in a games engine :S
If you then jump to the future were they do have such power full technology it would cost ALOT!
theres something about the final render (first one) that makes it less realistic that the other two. makes its a bit too much white? Anyone else think so?
I don't get sometimes why people dislike videos. I mean this video is pretty good. And heck it looks flipping realistic. But if you don't understand it or don't like it, just move on right a long and go watch some other video
woooowwww... I honestly thought I was watching soapy water at first! I was like, "who sits around recording soapy water?" ...then had my mind blow LOL!
Could you to create a lesson on it video? Procedure of creation of foam, a fog and z-depth especially interests. I cannot find good tutorials on compose anywhere. Could you to help?
Has anyone tried this method on a larger scale body of water. Would it be possible to have the water reflecting the environment when the water has settled?
@pixelpro1 Your works are very nice! Do you know of any plugins for 3Ds Max, to stress the video card instead of the CPU?
It's such a shame that Autodesk doesn't make applications which can fully take advantage of the CUDA GPU's of graphics cards! This sucks. Your processor is awesome, no doubt (2X Intel Xeon E5520 Quad), but even an Nvidia GeForce 460 1GB could render shit a lot faster than any CPU on the market today, but nooooo, I have to suck dick with 3Ds Max because I have Intel i5 760!
