Ave Maria (the original melody) was created by Johann Sebastian Bach. Later, Franz Peter Schubert used Bach's melody to create an Ave Maria of his own (an opera), with the original latin prayer text of the Catholic Church. Now, the Danish geniuses who created the Hitman story and the Danish genius, Jesper Kyd, that compiles the soundtrack for the Hitman games made an Ave Maria of their own. Schubert style. And as much as my instincts tell me, i'm quite sure that it's a young boy singing.
@KuuskEinar The "Bach" Ave Maria you're referring to is C. Gounod's "Ave Maria on the Bach Prelude," in which Bach's Prelude No. 1 in C Major is incorporated verbatim, with the lyrics set to Gounod's melody, That song was recorded by the vocal group Celtic Woman. This melody, on the other hand was composed by Franz Schubert, and is most often referred to as "Schubert's Ave Maria." AKA The "Hitman" Theme.
