haha janet are you an idiot?? There are several types of species of pandas just like their are cats or dogs etc. This is a Red panda aka Lesser panda. Its just like the Giant panda your thinking of. It eats bamboo, fruits, etc as well is found primarily in asian countries. Try and not be so ignorant next time you speak. Please and Thanks.

While booboobug1 is wrong and the Red Panda is not actually related to the Giant Panda (only very distantly,) these things are still called pandas...cos that's just their name. There are lots of animals with misleading names. Red pandas are also known as shining cats and firefoxes, but they are not cats or foxes either. Hope this helps.
