  • @abrahamlincoln Sing Loud, Sing Proud!

  • what was i thinking listening to anything else other than irish/scottish music?! dropkick murphys FTW!

  • what album?

  • @abrahamlincoln16 this is Mike McColgan version, this is on the Boys On The Docks EP, Sing Loud Sing Proud is the Al Barr version.

  • what album?

  • EAST COAST 4 LIFE!!!!

  • Sounds like the european version of greenday

  • @Howinho14 The Murphys are Irish-American Bostoners singing hardcore Oi-Punk. the Greenday association I'd never even think about, they're so completely different.

  • @l0rf Every American says they're Irish-American, that's why they celebrate St. Patrick's Day but really, are any of then actually Irish in any way except for ancestry?

  • @SirNoodlehe No, not really. Most who really are Anglo-Irish would probably have ancestors who immigrated as early as 1845 and they're really part of the American culture now. I haven't been to Boston or New York yet, but I've been to Dublin and it doesn't feel very American to me, so I suppose in the US it doesn't feel very Irish either. Maybe they want to be proud of something other than being just another US citizen.

  • @SirNoodlehe not every American say's they're Irish-American I know for a fact that both sides of my family are decended from there, and yeah it does feel good to know where you came from as any one would want to know/be curious especially being from the US where if you weren't native which 98% of "us" aren't now. That's all but hey if your black it's ok to say African American. Well in that case I am 75% Irish and 25% English btw my grandmother taught me old Irish songs passed down from her mom

  • @Jwbagz21 Sounds like you're quite patriotic but many people say it but don't actually conserve any Irish heritage. For example, how many Americans of Irish decent celebrate St. Stephens day - 26th of December. Or how many Americans speak Irish?

  • @SirNoodlehe I see what your saying and I respect that but at the same time what percentage of current Irish citizens speak "Irish" which is actually Gaeligue..not saying you don't know that but I know my heritage be blessed SirNoodlehe no need for an arguement here

  • Love this song! This is one of those songs that you just blast at full volume while barreling down the highway with all the windows open. Best Dropkick Murphy's track in my opinion, especially the classic Bruins intro ;)

  • @jim0581 BC ALL THE WAY

  • @redsoxbaddog Harvard 4 life

  • @RichieEastside ok thats fine thank god u r not a BU fan

  • @redsoxbaddog lol I lived right next to BU for a long time and after that, trust me, I'm no terriers fan. On top of that I worked at BC for a while and even for Catholics they're pretty good people over there :P But still, Harvard rules ;)

Yes, the only reason I say that is because I hope my son might someday find some magical way to go there lol A man can dream can't he? ;)

  • Haha, I remember when this E.P. was the only album they had. The others were stupid, but this song still rocks. I always like it when a song I used to love still means something after I left high school :p

  • @Corflamum what do you mean the others were stupid? Boys and the Docks and Never Alone were on that EP. granted the do or die version of never alone sounds way better it's still one of their best songs along with boys on the docks and caps and bottles.

  • I miss the rat

  • Wow awesome song its a hidden gem

take this and add Tin Soldier = my life!

  • where'd u get this song ? I knew it was an original DKM song but I've never heard this version with Mike on vocals.

  • It's from the Sing Loud!Sing Proud! album

  • its on that album but not this version. this version is from their first ep "Boys on the dock"

  • the Al Barr version is on sing loud sing proud but DKM has a history of rerecording their songs a few times. this was on Boys on the Docks

  • Didnt they re record boys on the dock (the song) like 5 times?

  • no. this is the boys on the dock version the version you are probably thinking of is the sing loud sing proud version. this song has only been recorded twice. i have an almost complete discography by DKM.

  • Yeah, boys on the docks (the song) is recorded 5 times. Boys on the docks EP, Do or Die, Mob Mentality, Live on saint pattys and a live cut on the singles collection.

How ever this song, Caps and bottles, has only been recorded twice, This being the 1st recording on the Boys on the Docks EP.

I too have an almost complete discography, all im missing is a few of the older vinyl EP's

  • who cares bout the al barr version

  • i actually like the al barr version too

and this is the version from boys on the dock.

  • this version is from the early years cd

  • It's from the Boys on the Dock EP

  • @RiseAgainst0013

no this one is from the original boys on the docks cd from like 96. Sing loud sing proud has al barr on vocals

  • @RiseAgainst0013

no its not, not the one i have anyway. on my sing loud sing proud its Al on vocals, not mike.

    very strange.

  • @RiseAgainst0013 Nope, this version is with Mike McColgan, so it's from Boys on the docks EP, i think:)

  • @kpetee86 You are spot on. It is from the Boys on the Docks EP (1997) on Cyclone Records. I bought it when it originally came out. I called up, chatted with the guy that ran Cyclone and bought it. He was a really nice guy. One year later I did the same thing on my birthday and ordered the Curse of a Fallen Soul 7" and the original DKM scarf. I still wear the scar every winter. Time goes fast! Caps & Bottles was always my favourite song off the EP. BTW, Jeff Erner plays the stix on this.

  • @RiseAgainst0013

    !!! Blackout man ;)
