I'm from CT and I when I visit Southern California I always go to Tommy's. Their burgers are great, but I love the breakfast sandwich, a sausage egg and cheese with chili is my favorite item. I tried In N Out last year when I was there. Not only do their fries suck, but they couldn't even put bacon on my burger. In N Out's menu sucks, not to mention the Bible quotes on the wrappers made me naseous. Jesus and burgers don't mix well.

I grew up on these hamburgers. They are the best. They weree .35 cents in 1957. I still need a fix when I get to Los Angeles. After the clubs closed at 2 AM, everyone from all over the city would head to Tommy's. They were opened 24 hours. Great memories...great burgers.

My mom said that when she was pregnant with me back in late '63, she would send my dad out to get Tommy's at any and all hours of the night because of her cravings for a Tommy's Burger. I guess I can say that I've been a huge fan since my time in the womb, and there's no chili burger that even comes close to a Tommy's burger. I take offense at your suggesting Tommy's chili is greasy. It is ANYTHING but... while you're deconstructing take a look at the texture... Tommy's chili is rather firm, not runny... greasy chili is runny. Theirs almost 'Stands Up' its so devoid of grease. I've long held they should be selling it frozen in grocery stores !
