You can get the 30 pack in NC for about $14. Amazing... considering a pack of Newports will run you serious bankhead ($8-ish?) in NY, where this beer comes from. I <3 NC anyone?

Try Port Republic. Brewed by genesee I believe for kroger. That stuff is so bad that it make Burger classic and Genesee seem like a finely crafted microbrew.
This is an outstanding Ale. It is underrated and a classic. One of my favorites if I can find it. Many of our Grandparents used to drink this in Upstate NY and I can see why. Screamers rule!!!
Any Genesee beer is a great choice, especially on a hot day(with exception of genny light & ice)

I would totally consider Genese a macro brewery. They're the #10 biggest brewery by volume in the USA.
I had a somewhat similar reaction as you did, that this beer isn't quite as bad as you'd think. It's the best bad beer out there, on par with PBR.
Although I'm surprised you rated it as high as you did. To each his own I guess.
