  • I am your father and i am also a fucking scorpion. -AVGN quote

  • maybe it isn't really VADRER maybe its some kind of Dark side Scorpion creature trying to make luke THINK its vader ... or maybe japan is just kind of weird...

  • i 'am the only one who thinks there is a lot of common point between this and Alex Kidd in miracle world on master system ?

    This is incredible

  • Thumbs up if the yahoo news article on "worst video games based on movies" brought you here.

  • When the imperial storm troopers seized the sand crawler the 1st thing Lord Vader had them do was paint it "death star grey" .

  • It sucks ^^

  • I used to have this. If you put a coin in between the connectors of the zapper port, you access the level select menu. I think it was 99 levels? Not unless you count 00 as a level, then that would make it 100 levels

  • @acicon I used that method to clear game cause I never pass stage11-wood world(Endor,i guess).

The best stage for me is stage9-ice world.

  • @acicon holy crap I've been trying to find this everywhere. It is one mystery of electronics that keeps me awake at night.

  • 2:51

Did that happen in the movie? Did that happen in ANY of the movies?

  • And that's just the first encounter! Later Darth Vader turns into a fossilized Pterodactyl, a Shark, and a Yeti!

  • Why the fuck did Darth Vader turned into a fucking scorpion? Agree if AVGN sent you here.

  • In this game, there are numerous fake Darth Vaders in there. For the real one, you first fight him on the Death Star, but I don't remember where else you fight him at.

  • Interesting... Instead of asking for old Ben's help in the message she calls on Luke

  • 00:00 to 00:07 Twenty centaury NAMCO :-D

  • I love when Stormtrooper combust into Landspeeders. NEAT!

  • WTF!? Vader in the Sandcrawler?! Then turns into some sand scorpion!? I love this game

  • Good game, love both NES and Famicom versions of Star Wars.

  • They've did the same thing to Casper for the Super Famicom.

  • no kidding.

  • "Luke, tasukete kudasai okama ga teikoku ni torawarete shimaimashita douka onegai...." The famous ''only hope" line, translated to gool ol' Nihongo!

  • Yet, substitute Luke for Obi-wan.

    She didn't know Luke.

  • What's with the random hawks?

  • oooooooooooooooookaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

    random

  • This looks just like the first TMNT game!

  • PS does anyone remember the cheat for this game? i think it's after you GAME OVER and Darth Vader's head apears you press select and something else to continue. please help. if you know of any other cheats please post. thanks.

  • If anyone has an emulator link please post it. I've been wanting to play this game since 1999.

  • I knew it! Vader was really a giant scorpion!

  • The best part of this game is the music. They used the synchronized version of the actual film musics throughout the game.

  • i emulated this one... crap... but fun crap because it was sooo wrong. the snes version is the best.

  • I hated the Super Famicom version even more than the Victor version of Star Wars on the Famicom. This was far better in my opinion. The Super Famicom version had crappy controls and crappy gameplay (the only good part was the Battle of Yavin, which was better on the 1983 Atari arcade game.

  • I've played this and you're wrong, it's crap. The US version was innovative and true to the movie. But the SMS version was better.

  • Ha, that warp sound from the Falcon was from the Atari 2600 game, Starmaster. The gameplay was similar too.

  • Yeah did the Japanese not bother to review the movie before making a game on it? Sure it looks cool but what's with Vadar turning into a scorpian and Luke fighting Storm Troopers in the Sandcrawler. Oh well, I guess our games weren't so accurate either...were they?

  • Remember when Luke fought Darth Vader in the sand crawler ... just like the movie!

  • This is how Star Wars should have been on the US NES, the one released in the States sucked, and deserves to be rare, so epople can forget it. The sequel to the US release, the Empire Strikes Back, was better however.

  • All fear Sasori Vader!

  • I would have to import it, because there was no NES release, only Famicom.

  • "Damn Jawas stole ma droid!!!"

  • How does Luke suddenly have a lightsaber??

    looks pretty weird to me...

  • This game looks awesome!

As an amateur game maker, I can appreciate the brilliance of the presentation given the technology! I'd be proud to make a game like that!

  • I played this back when I was a kid on a Japanese Famicom. There was this "cheat" where you wiggled a coin in the metal prongs where the peripherals go in the famicom. A level select menu would appear. I kid you not. Weird.

  • He He He, we used a fork. u stick it in the second controller port of the famicom and the menu shows up

my brother and i busted a couple famicoms doing that over and over

shit last time i played this game i was still in japan, if i remember correctly i think darth vader turns into some fish or shark in the third level

  • Holy shit! Dude I remember this game...I remember playing it on what my family called the "chinese nintendo." I later found it it was a famicom. Though I don't ever remember any English in it.

This game was so f* hard, it was a one-hit you die game. Never got passed the second level, if I remember.

    You rock!

  • "Though I don't ever remember any English in it."

    Hacked translation, you know.

  • Why would they call it a "chinese Nintendo"? It was from Japan.

  • Probably because they confused China with Japan and couldn't tell the difference between the two countries. I used to be like that.

  • A nice extravaganza, but I still prefer the Lucasfilm Games version.

  • In my opinion, if the Namcot version's gameplay was combined with the Lucasfilm Games/Victor one's graphics and story, it would be perfect. This one had better gameplay, but the other one followed the story far better.

  • So, what was Darth Vader doing in a Sandcrawler again...?

  • wtf is this?

  • Zelda 2?

  • Wait, what's with the description? The NES version in America was much better... I mean, in this one, Darth Vader turns into a scorpion... wtf...

  • The scorpion thing is why.

  • This reminds me of Zelda II

  • Same here. Must be similar game engines. Or just the use of a sword and the way the in-game text is presented.

  • Good, but the NES US version is better.

  • Heh.. I like the Fox/Namcoish intro. The GRaphics are really good also.

  • Naw what I'm really impressed about is the 8-bit reenactment of the opening scene with the ships firing at each other.

  • Now that was cool.
