  • I'm playing this piece! Whoever played this is brilliant! However, at the end of the piece, it's supposed to be forte.

  • Horowitz plays with a sense of wit and charm sorely lacking in today's Haydn performances.

  • his dynamics are good, but I dislike how he pops off endings sometimes.

  • I <3 this

  • This is the first video I've ever seen that has 0 dislikes.

    Masterpiece.

  • Haydn's clavinetism is really highly inventive, as well as his melodic lines.

  • :) im just wondering, but isnt this piece suppposed to be a little slower?

  • @balletlover119 Ask Haydn! He probably would answer you that it'd sound ridiculous when played slower.

  • @Starwalker6978 well, i agreem with balletlover! S/He doesn't mean that this should be played "slower" but just a bit slower.. for me this is too fast, but still, i like it! hahahaha.. xDD

  • @Starwalker6978 Horowitz has a tendency to play his pieces at a rather brisk pace, yet he barely loses the quality or tone.

  • WHAT GRADE IS THIS IN AMEB LEVELSSSSSSSS? ( australian )

  • @sunvis314 really? :( oh shoot then its not gd enuf @__@ wat classical pieces do you recommend for hsc music 2 performances? :D

  • Comment removed

  • @sunvis314 @whattheasiann Horowitz said once: "Everything is difficult."

Michelangeli once programmed to play the Tchaikovsky concerto. The concert was cancelled; probably because he didn't feel satisfied with some passage, so he didn't play it. He later never performed the concerto.

What I want to say is, that playing the notes is easy, but playing music is very difficult, even in a Haydn sonata!

  • @Starwalker6978 That is so freakin' true...

  • @whattheasiann In RCM, I'm pretty sure it's grade 9. It only sounds difficult as it's played so fast. In actuality, the technique is veyr easy to master. :)

  • @AOK4mea this marvellous work is deceptively difficult to pull off. It requires

a special musical sense and intelligence to get the inner workings and dynamics

just right, otherwise it comes off tedious and boring. Horowitz sets the example.

  • only 52 likes?!!!

  • Every note is beautiful. Thanks for posting it up! I am learning it right now

  • Does anybody know what grade (level in piano playing) this song would be appropriate for? Thank you

  • @LittleLulubee Im currently playing level 9 in piano and i can play this song...it really depends on how dedicated you are to this type of music, but around level 8 or 9 would be fine ( in my opinion)

    Good luck! :)

  • @LittleLulubee this piece is in the grade 9 level, but its considered difficult for even grade 9. I just started grade 9 and I'm learning it right now

  • this is such an easy song to play

  • @platypiforeva Yeah, it is easy to memorise and everything BUT IT IS DAMN HARD TO PLAY IT AS GOOD AS HOROWITZ!!!

  • @1234musicnote true

  • I wonder how many of these 18,000 views are renartians. REN ARTS!

  • @teganbowiefreak REN ARTS??? What does it mean?

  • @Starwalker6978 It's an amazing school of amazing.

  • @Starwalker6978 its an awsome school were we go.

  • @Starwalker6978 JFGI

  • @Starwalker6978 ren arts is the name of a really cool school its actually renaissance arts academy but its ren arts for short

  • @LoveBuggJ12 What does anything about this video have to do with the renaissance? Pianos weren't around then, Hadyn wasn't around, pretty sure neither was Horowitz. This is Enlightenment period stuff.

  • @Starwalker6978 :p it's our school. we have to write an essay on this, Chopin's impromptu, wuthering heights and the aenied. >:(( it sux!

  • @Starwalker6978 its a art school in la, we were told we have to do an essay about this and another piece and compare them to two stories

  • @teganbowiefreak yeah go renarts!!!!!!!! i luv being a renartian !!!!!!!!!!!

  • @teganbowiefreak well, its not 18,000 anymore - its 24344. that is a damn lot of views!

  • Horowitz has an uncanny rhythmic sense, aside from all the other intricate

talents he has, to make this marvellous work come alive.
