@breznk youve got nothing to complain about mate, i got a e6550, 2gb800mhz, and an olde x1950pro, and it can also run most new games (up until COD4 it could run all on highest settings). dont underestimate the power of your pc :)

Actually, it works in most of the games, but in Crysis after some time it totally fucks up the game. I'm now running on 780/1090 and it's perfect in all games.

And no, i don't have watercooling.

This game will run like a bloody charm on that machine. Probably 150+ FPS constantly. And yes, it's true that HD4850 crossfire beat a single HD4870.

sort of stupid to use this game as a benchmark for the 4870 lulz on my old 8600 and 2.2 core 2 duo i was getting like 100+fps on high with 4xAA on 1440x900 i say try a game like cod4 or GRID or crysis :)

Oh yeah it is! I have this Card since two months and it's really good. The only Problem was the heat when i got.But if u flash the Bios u don't have any Problems with it.U can play every Game in high resolution,but u'll need a good System too.

Exactly. You can also simple edit your profile and adjust your fan speed. My card is now 40°C under load, previous was 90°C! It's amazing and you can overclocked it to.

I have this card myself, I'm trying to overclock it but it keeps getting too hot and I'm pretty sure the graphical glitches and computer crashes (red-screen) are because it's running to hot. Mind telling me what I have to do to force the fan's speed up?

Google it. There are guides how to set custom fan speed of the HD4870. But i wonder...why do i get graphical error if my graphic card is overclocked? I have default clocks now -.-'

Things aren't rated to be opperated at higher-than-normal frequencies. If you get graphical glitches, try clocking it down a bit. I'm running it at 760Mhz core and 960Mhz memory. Admitedly that's a very slight overclock, but nothing's going wrong so far. Anyway, thanks for the help.

Ok, this was kinda dumb, after upping my fan's speed (thanks, by the way) I ran the auto-overclocker on the CCC, and it set my clock speeds to 840 Core and 1190 memory. It failed massively when I started up crysis though. I've got it at 810 and 1020 now and it seems to be stable. Try out those clock settings and see if they work.

You should take a demo of it first then use fraps or game cam to record the demo while the demo is being played via the hl2 console.
