  • boring anime

  • not for the faint of heart. This anime is mad!!!

  • really pixelly :(

  • 240p we meet again

  • btw for those who didnt know this was actually aired in the U.S. back when SyFy played anime. ahhh those great days. It was a really good anime. I cried on the last episode though.

  • @SuperRychman Replying to myself. or Maybe it was TechTv b4 it became g4. aHHHHH!!! damn cant remember

  • So we meet again, 240p

  • They had all the episodes on you tube at one point in 07

  • what is this quality ???

  • Where's the US release com on

  • @dragonlorder there is a US release? Te english dub even has bloopers.

  • @AshokaAnandaeSaha don't think so : (

  • It took a little effort to get through the first half of the show but the second half and especially the ending were incredible. I can see why this wouldn't (and didn't I think?) sell well though, which is a shame.

  • @WitchoCracko Eh, when I suggested that my anime club screen it last winter they were afraid to touch it because it was too depressing!

  • LOVE the video quality...

  • the ending was such a let down! that's all I can say.

  • @sinnad07 its in contrast to the op, stop whining

  • Watching this and comparing it to the crap that passes for anime nowadays is depressing. Texhnolyze has more ambition in its first episode than most of today's shows have in their entire run, and that isn't at all an exaggeration.

  • @Kagemusha08

    So true

  • shit

  • was this anime made in the 1800's?

  • 1:00 zic, jeez in my pant.

  • I cried at the end...man, great story.....every ending of the first episode, until the second to the last, just kept on making you want to know what happens next...then the last episode came, and then right there and then....perfect ending....really makes me want to cry some more..

  • I would have to say as this title logo looks "IMSOMNIAC" which I can see before Ratchet & Clank's ready to go, time to play! I think you can say chic instead of sick too. =)

  • This is definitly one of the best animes out there... and its more deppressing then anything else I ve ever seen.

This may sound weird, but when I watched this show I undestood for the first time what Martin Heidegger meant when he said that you cant understand the "Nichts", but in some emotional situations (like "Angst") it "shows" itself.

  • That's freakin' Juno Reactor in the intro there, niiiiice ^^

  • i have a crush on Ran

  • This anime is one of the best animes i've watched! Finely one good "Dark" Seinen anime!! sad that there ain't many others animes like this one...

  • I just can't get over how perfect this opening is for the anime and main protagonist. Very, very special.

  • This anime is AWESOME~!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • the guy who wrote this should jump off a bridge. sickest stuff i have watched in my life.

  • Is it as good as 'Ghost in The Shell' or is it just too different to compare to 'Ghost in The Shell' ?

  • @darkembassymusic Ghost in a Shell seems like crap when compared.

  • @xXShayLynnXx - fo real? OK I'm gonna check out this texhnolyze then. Thnx 4 reply.

  • remind me of serial experiments lian animation wise. looks cool

  • @rubixspoly Not even close...

  • God this show is underrated.

  • thanks for the suggestions guys ^^

  • I bought the whole Collection of Texhnolyze just to see what its about & I must say it was just awesome a sad ending though but overall brilliant.

  • I love how they quoted The Swimmer. Fantastic song.

  • One of the most depressing animes ever.

  • alright I am new to anime and this was the first one I watched and I absolutely loved it! Can anyone recommend similar movies of a cyberpunk genre?

  • @shay2707 Look for Serial Experiments Lain

  • @shay2707

Heý, yes watch Akira. thats a nice anime.

  • as already suggested, "serial experiments: lain" and "akira". also "ghost on the shell" of course. and the "patlabor" movies, though not cyberpunk, are dystopian and urban and very good.

  • Yeah, definitely check out everything that ailblentyn suggested. Especially Lain, Akira, and Ghost In The Shell.

  • lain is your best bet. Basically the same creative minds came up with both series. lain is a bit more cerebral and scattershot, without Tex's sprawling narrative and cast. Still, both are exellent, and if you loved Tex chances are you'll love lain.

Ergo Proxy is another post-apocalyptic cyberpunk series. Its quite similar to Tex, to the point of plagiarism. Its a decent series but most of it's attempts at philosophical depth fall flat. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone complex is excellent.

  • To add one more: try RahXephon. Its not cyberpunk but it's one of the few SciFi anime I'd label a masterpiece. Don't be fooled by its initial cliches: like Tex it explores some deeply existential issues with great maturity, a rarity in anime.

As for films, most of Mamoru Oshii's work is worth checking out. He's very hit or miss, but Ghost in the Shell, Patlabor 2 and The Sky Crawlers are all great. Like someone mentioned Akira is good, though inferior to the brilliant comic its based on.

  • Gantz!

  • hmm maybe ergo proxy, blue gender and even Gantz.. just google it

  • Comment removed

  • Serial Experiments Lain

    Ergo Proxy

The Ghost in the Shell series (movies and stuff)

    :D

  • amazing psy-trance! I love it!

  • is the anime good

  • sick opening.

texhnolyze is one of the few animes with balls.

  • @xridethelightningx it has BALLS>.....i like BALLS

  • @xridethelightningx Elfen Lied is also one of them.

  • @xridethelightningx why do you say that? WAIT I have not watched it so no spoilers please. Do you say it because they have guts to like kill off really good characters etc?

  • @Maxaker67 Not to give anything away, that's putting it mildly.

  • After Evangelion, my favourite anime ever..

  • Openings like this actually make you want to see the anime. The only other into music that doesn't make me run for the mute button is the intro to Death Note.

  • This is the oficial emo postapocaliptyc anime and its one of the best animes ever made in history of humans .Its quality is so advanced that some of todays animes look like some retards couldnt draw something that would look like an anime. The theme is so realistic that its scary and the ending is extreamly disturbing and it shows how fucked up the whole humanity is,Well see ya in hell

  • love it

  • Tight opening. Intense, sizzling, dangerous.

  • actually i don't really understand the story of this anime, its really confusing.

  • great anime...great op

    5/^5

    =D

  • Does that quote originate from the movie itself, or some other source? Cause it's very true.

  • I was just stating my opinion. Like with any piece of art, my judgment of it is subjective and you don't have to agree at all. You also don't have to insult me for it.

  • is this the origanal G A or is it a mix?? cuz heard the other orig. and this is a little faster and a bit different.....still like it tho...forst saw it on Starz action a long time ago..

  • Guardian Angel (Xavier's Edit)

  • Cyberpunk at its best.

  • @pugnaciousboxer2

Is it cyberpunk? I thought Texhnolyze was Deiselpunk.

  • When I watched this series a few years ago I hated it , but I think I would love it now that im older.

  • Anything you want anything at all... come to me.. I'll be your guardian angel.

  • If you like that song It's from a really good techno band called Juno Reactor. Most people have heard thier work from the Matrix films and spin offs.

  • One of my favorite animes. Up there with Lain, rahxephone, and last exile.

  • Muito phoda '-'

  • the dvd is confusing it seems like it is missing some eps like it has part of it when ran sees him walking down a street and says something about i was right about seeing the future 0-0

  • can't stop watchin' tex. it's pretty good drawed and amazing what their using for effects when ichise is loosing his arm

  • its super depressing tho ahha

  • OMFG! I've seen this on t.v before and i freakin luved it! i can't stop watching this video! oh please oh please someone tel me where to get the first volume of this! i want it soooo bad!!!

  • I bought the first DVD of episodes because I thought it was a movie, and it was definitely not what I was expecting. It was still really interesting though, and I wonder where it goes plot wise. Anyone have any advice if it's good enough continue, or gets better?

P.S. It seems to me that in the first 4 episodes, Isshin gets raped twice? O.o

Why does everyone want a piece of him? He's good looking, sure, but the second time he's missing two limbs! Bizarre

  • yeah, shuld def get the rest, war breaks out underneath, they go up to the surface and stuff is all weirded out up there, guy gets limbs replaced with metal ones. Lets just say its gets pretty violent. Guy from the beginning who does cuts his limbs off f's stuff up later on!

  • If you are willing to throw you sanity and logic out the window when you watch this series, by all means, go for it. This is a really good series, but be warned, everything only goes downhill, it never goes up.

  • Thank you! So, I'm guessing it follows the idea of death and destruction, and in the end, either everyone dies, nothing changes, or things get even worse off than they started off as. Yay for angst! I was hoping it would get clearer later on, but if that's the case, the confusion is kinda annoying at points.

  • yea, but If you get pass the first several episodes it really sticks to you, it keeps you wanting to know what happens next. I was dumbfounded after watching the first three episodes. but I just couldn't stop watching as I continue watching the series.

  • everybody should try watching the show ... i recommend doing it 11pm and everybody's quiet. watch 1 episode a night .. prepare for a nice ending..

  • lol nice ending...while it was amazing...i dont know if nice is the word

  • hmm. I might try out this anime looks like a very unique show. It seems the atmosphere to this show is odd, eerie, and sorta cyberpunkish and I like that :).

  • It's worth it. Hope you have strong nerves and sanity. ^^

  • definetly give it a try! it's a kind of mindblowing experience. and your right it has cyberpunk elements but also mixes other genres. hard to explain but one of the best shows ever!

  • An anime opening with absolutely NO lyrics? YES!!!

  • I got a DVD of this for free after buying Lain, decided to watch it...and I've only been through the first 4 episodes, but it seems interesting.

  • This series had such a feeling of hopelessness through it, but perfectly Cyberpunk, if you ask me.

The whole overworld was creepy as hell, and towards the end of this show it gets really crazy. Kind of slow for the first four or so eps, but pays off in a big way.

I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a serious anime. I'm just surprised more people haven't heard of it.

  • Rather common among those who are interested in mindfuck (ie Lain, EVA). Saw it, I thought it was rather boring. Not because it wasn't interesting but the pacing was horrible. Intro still rocks though.

  • watched it, loved it and bought it

  • Juno Reactor :3

  • es lo mas cool es series neo anime supercool

  • I'm so gonna watch this... I loved the Lain series and Have high hopes for Texhnolyze... But I can't feel but a little mad that the animation on lain wasn't as fancy as on this one :(

Anyways looking forward to Texhnolyze =_=

  • Lain was made a little earlier than Texhnolyze.

    that's kinda why.

  • lol i had this song but i've lost it :(

  • It's Juno Reactor - Guardian Angel if you wonder. Found on the Labyrinth CD.

  • Amazing anime. Juno Reactor rocks!

  • this anime keeps you confused till the end, still great ^^

  • Wow. The opening reminds me of Ergo Proxy and/or Death Note. Looks like a ton of fun!

  • It's actually rather similar to Ergo Proxy. Both are cyberpunk styled anime etc. Although this one is better if you ask me.

  • Strangely enough I enjoyed Ergo Proxy far more. The pacing of Texhnolyze drove me insane and when the pacing was finally redemeed (about the 5 last eps) it was too late for me.

  • Actually, I liked this show so much partly because of the slow pacing, that's something difficult to find in (any kind of) animation today.

  • I know this anime ...cruel x_x

  • Seriously, an awesome show.

  • if anime requires a bit of thinking is that bad ? probably difficult to understand the meaning.. well wise up.

  • Those are popular anime that everyone already knows about.

  • Lol I hope ur trolling my friend

  • I saw that anime and it's really awesome! It gets better and better up to the end. Yoshii and Shinji are the best characters!

  • i meen begging

  • Beginning?

  • yah srry, lol

  • this begging seems like it took awhile to make. idk but this reminds me slightly of deathnote but some what ALOT scarier but interesting. idk.

  • Wasnt this made before death note lulz?

  • Tehxnolyze was made in 2003, 4 years before Death Note. BTW, Tehxnolyze is far superior.

  • Yeah I totally agree. Texhnolyze is one of my personal favorites.

  • That's a strange comparison, crossing genres.

Texhnolyze was clearly made to be more intellectual than Death Note.

Personally, I like Death Note too, through all its quirks and convoluted crime plots.

  • this anime is awesome.

  • this anime is awesome.

  • I just got a one of a kind signed poster by the whole cast including the creator. Its what made me discover this anime I am excited to download it :D

  • "Guardian Angel (Xavier's Edit)"

    - Juno Reactor

The song was originally from the soundtrack of the Mark Dacascos movie "Drive" ;)

  • this serie is very good !!! The storie is complex but very good !!! I LOVE TEXHNOLYZE

  • You actually need a brain to watch this series... quite an improvement.

  • Texhnolyze Rulz!!

  • i m downloading it and i expect much

  • I think this is one of my favourite anime series ever! great soundtrack btw... And the story is kinda complex, true, but it's great!

  • Great opening, even if the story of Texhnolyze is quite difficult to understand.

  • Juno Reactor simply rocks. :] Just like Texhnolyze. Wonderful opening, the music fits perfectly.

  • It surprised me how the OP song was done by Juno Reactor.

  • too sad story...

  • The track is great. The op is cool. Just too sad the rest of the show is deadly boring.

(Note: I'm not saying it's bad. Just boring.)

  • I know huh? The song was great but like the whole show was a drag, I tried though, it got good at the end.

  • I thought the show was really interesting and cool. But the last few eps were surely the best.

  • I think such statements don't automatically equate that you hate the show. After all there's a few animes that I think are alright but the timing of them and the laid back story has caused me to fall asleep countless times.

  • awesome!

  • soo awesome ^^!

  • Sugoi yo!

    This opening is great! :Q:

  • already hard it in Katana, a mod for max payne 1, and of course in the matrix.

  • AWESOME!!!I have this song is by Juno Reactor ^^ and he is hot...!

  • I love this opening, I actually started watching this anime just because of it. It's so awesome - especially the beginning.

  • AWESOMEEEEEEE

  • Well...The name of the song, plz oO ? This OP ruleZzzzz.

  • It's Guardian Angel by Juno Reactor. Really amazing music.

  • Oh YEs. It IS amazing!

  • one of my most fav movie ever....thanks for uploading the song...(smiles)

  • Yeah, it's good.

And on the Sountrack of Matrix... 2 or 3, there are some other good songs of Juno Reactor....

    Good stuff, really!

  • Song is "Guardian Angel" by Juno Reactor

  • Argh, i want this sooooong!!! Where can i download it? xD Oh, the Anime, yeah, its pretty good! I saw eight episodes after another and i was totally fascinated!

  • texhnolyze is about an underground lost city called LUCKS, and the discovery of an cuttin edge technology, called texhnlyze, that allows limbs to be regenerated and or replaced by mechanical limbs. Is from the same creator from SERAIL EXPERIMENTS LANE, and BOOGIE POP PHANTOM. Is wotrh to watch, a little complicated, though.

  • These are the same writers that gave us Serial Experiments Lain? No way! Loved that series...I gotta finish this series...

  • My favorite intro. Youtube quality hurts like hell though :(

  • best show in the world!

  • this is one of the most grim animes ive seen.

    apocalyptic cyberpunk, very interesting.

  • i baught this like a weak ago and ive watched a few episodes and its pretty cool.lots of blood aswell.

  • this anime is so dark and violent but it carries some deeeeeep symbolism and meaning, relevant to today's modern culture

  • Agreed =O It's pretty good.

  • I find the symbolism to be really interesting after the fact. The humanity of the story and characters as a whole tells a lot and makes it very personable to me. I also find Ichise and Onishi to be some of my most favorite characters because of how they try to resist fatalism.

The exploration of transhumanism is one of the best I've seen. That really makes a lot of cultural relevance if you've seen the recent Time or Newsweek article on futuristic technological advancements.

  • i like the theme song

    Guardian Angel - Juno reactor

  • What's this about? It look good.

  • Mafia's proving their power by ripping/slicing the limbs off of people. Seriously, that's what it's about.

"Texhnolyze"(pronounced "technolise") comes from when you get artificial limbs to replace your ripped/sliced limbs.
