Thanks! Well, it was all animated by hand. Then it was composited frame by frame in after-effects, and final assembly was in final cut pro. It was a lot of work.

Crazy squashy stretchy stuff where the character breaks and holds is what 2d does best. I don't know why feature films (Disney, I's lookin' at you!) never really took advantage of the medium. This is with the possible exception of Emperor's New Groove. That flick came the closest to showing what 2d can do in a movie that no other medium can. Regarding 3d, I don't think it does this kind of stuff as well. Not even Pixar's latest short strikes me as being as good as the old Warner's shorts.

When I see a cartoon, I don't want it to look like all that "real" honestly: cartoons can't do what actors do well, and vice versa. Prior to that, Germany and the USSR signed a non-aggression pact, called the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. This was later violated by Germany in 1941. If you really wanted to get all thinky about it, you could see this cartoon as a reason why that treaty fell apart.  Or just as a stupid cartoon, which is more or less what it is.

Well... let's see here. I got my reasons... or at least excuses. First off, some things are so ungodly hienous that the only way you can deal with them in any kind of reasonable way is to make fun of them. I think I stole that from Mel Brooks. Originally, it was going to be a little old lady. But then you felt REALLY bad for her, and... actually, oddly, people DO feel kinda bad for this little Hitler. To me, that says "Hey, Matt Nealon, you got that dumb character workin' for ya."
