It's like a stage fight. If your partner know what you will do, it's really nice technics and tricks. But, sabre is a really fast weapon. In normal speed fight, most of that technics is useless - just too slow. However, looks nice for pubic.
@Alvissish These are DRILLS. Their sole purpose is to work the motions into your muscle memory so they can be executed without conscious thought. Sabre fencing has them, too; all martial arts do.
Excellent beginner's material progressing the student to being able to launch basic counterattacks, particularly if the opponent attacks the lower leg.
