Jeez that was the year I started on the railways after leaving school. Did a few months as a box lad at crewe north box then worked south box with the Murray brothers till I was 18 then went to saltley traction depot to get on the footplate. Hi matey, I live in Crewe and find your vid incredibly interesting ......wold date it more like 1979 or later though ...also doesn't it look strange on the old 'downside' with the canopy still in situ !!
