Maan that Gojira/StaticX PL Fucked me up. I was really diggin this Gojira for the first time and had been smoking some weed and idk but the THC struck my brain just right after I smoked and I was freaking out, like just got back from war freaking out. @sekki108 one thing they do, i think is "riff farm" where you take a riff and cycle it for a while, then change, or modulate, one note on the next time around. i think they mix discordant pedal diatonic stuff, with chromaticism too... or not.  they're genius'

If you listen to some songs from Opeth for example, there are some who are also very repetitive, Gojira is not the only one like that luckily. And if the side just simple and repetitive in fact serve to hypnotize, to insist on a particular emotion. Be open-minded.

@guill62 and if you consider Gojira can have up to 5-6 epic riffs in one song, where the average song in other bands only has 1 main riff, break down and choruses. Gojira nay seem repetitive sometimes but as you said, it has a certain purpose, but generally they are not repetitive at all their songs are very creative and have a lot of variety :)
