They've improved every aspect except Voltron himself.  That one, they decided to screw up completely. The characters are more rounded, even the annoying cadets are shaping up (though Vince will always be a plot device to me). The animation is much cleaner than the original (not comparing it to other current shows, just GoLion). It's only the parts that actually involve Voltron that are worse. The combination animation is lackluster and the fights have been underwhelming plot device duels.

People should really give the show a chance. I grew up with the original and yeah its different but it's still good. It brings in old and new together. I don't see it as such a bad thing. It's not a reboot like Thundercats but a continuation with a new take on it but same characters and familiarity with the expected young kid sidekicks theme thrown in. I don't know, I enjoy it. It's not the original but its fine. If you like Voltron you and your kids should enjoy this too.

the new Thundercats series is more adult and dark then the Original ever was and for a change Mumra is strong and not a wimp,the rebooting of Thundercats is AWESOME and got good charecter disighn and even better animation badget.

Plus with Toei breathing down their asses they had to make several changes. Thundercats has WB backing them up, hence why they could afford the anime looking style. Mumm-Ra is garbage in the new version, his design is boring and not scary and his voice actor sucks majorly. The series is okay so far, but still isn't as great as the original.
