But most Nuyoricans seem to be Mestizos, Mulatos and triracial Pardos or Afro-Mestizos. The White Puerto Ricans usually have money and don't need to leave Puerto Rico for work or a better life. But that's not to say that some Nuyoricans aren't White, there are a few.

As a Boricua born & raised in NYC in the 70s, I finally went to PuertoRico in the mid 80s to stay a couple of years and learned quickly that there were HUGE differences between Nuyoricans and PuertoRicans on the island. Excuse me, lol, But you learn your history. Dominicans have historicly been like elites in education throughout history against Puertoricans, no competition. All you have to do is go to Universities in NY. No Puertoricans and mostly Dominicans. More Nuyoricans in jail than in college.

Puerto ricans a small island with 4 million people, have had achievemnets in sports( diffrent kind of sports besides baseball and boxing), music( american and latin), government, we have had two puerto rican surgeon genereals, and a handful of ambassador's. We have had declorations in the military( 65th regiment), we have had great actors like jose ferrer, bencio del toro, raul julia, etc. we have had achievments in nasa, we already had a puerto rican astronaunt.

Excuse me, lol, But you learn your history. Dominicans have historicly been like elites in education throughout history against Puertoricans, no competition. All you have to do is go to Universities in NY. No Puertoricans and mostly Dominicans. More Nuyoricans in jail than in college.

Puerto ricans a small island with 4 million people, have had achievemnets in sports( diffrent kind of sports besides baseball and boxing), music( american and latin), government, we have had two puerto rican surgeon genereals, and a handful of ambassador's.
