If you do the math you will realize the $40,000 investment required to run a home on solar photovoltaic has NO payback. Unless you are a long long way from mains power so the cost of running power lines is high there is no point in photovoltaics except for a nice fell good sensation.

To FULLY run a home on PV you need about 6KW of panels with the corresponding batteries etc $40K. Ie the run ovens stoves heating water etc. A $13K system assumes your water heating and cooking needs are from propane or some other source. I'm not arguing you can't make money selling the excess back to the grid BUT in the western world the money earned does not come near the money the same $ would earn invested in a decent safe investment such as bonds or term deposit

Before complaining about emissions of this car, consider that Oil must be 1) drilled 2) transported to refinery 3) refined 4) transported again to the gas station. Each of these stages burn lots of energy.
This car? A mix of Nuclear, Wind, Solar, Coal, etc. can provide power to the air compressor. Some of these things are transported efficiently once by train. Power plants are at least 2X the best efficiency of an engine. Electricity isn't transported on tankers, trains or trucks either.

they have been ordered to be used as taxis in mexico, they run at up to 60 mph for a distance of 120 miles. the problem is the electricity used to compress the air is significant and just moves emissions to the power station. also it takes like four hours to fill the 300 litre tanks unkless you have a high powered air hose it can be done in 3 minutes

A/C is nice, but what about heat? By using compressed air, there are no gas explosions in the engine, driving the pistons, generating the heat. I live in Wisconsin, and heat is required. Anyone know if they're incorporating some type of heating system into these?

if you take the ratio from gasoline to energy to turn the turbine in the machine we know as a vehicle, it is not efficient at all, a lot less compared to compressed air; also we still need to factor how cold we need to bring natural gas in to a liquid form and how much energy to keep it in a liquidized state in both tank and the fuel station if we convert it to an alternative vehicle fuel. as we well know our addiction to coal "cheap fuel" will dominate the market for years to come

for example an approximate self build about 13-16k already covers for your own usage, now for an additional investment of another 24k to 27k you can easily start making money from generating energy

To FULLY run a home on PV you need about 6KW of panels with the corresponding batteries etc $40K. Ie the run ovens stoves heating water etc. A $13K system assumes your water heating and cooking needs are from propane or some other source. I'm not arguing you can't make money selling the excess back to the grid BUT in the western world the money earned does not come near the money the same $ would earn invested in a decent safe investment such as bonds or term deposit

Fuels & tuning is a compromise for polution standards. Communist countries that take all peoples money,(100%) taxes still get the same fuel mileage so theres no incentive there to keep it low. FACTS light cars with small motors get better MPG. Electric cars use more energy than equal sized gas cars, (unless run on fuel cells).

The prototype shown in the 2006 video is the one that MDI used to announce in 2000 that they would start selling cars in 2001. Didn't happen.
MDI still hasn't delivered any cars. Never has.
My guess is that they cannot achieve the performance they claim, specifically the range. The only test of range showed their car running out of air after only 7.22km (less than 5 miles).

Before complaining about emissions of this car, consider that Oil must be 1) drilled 2) transported to refinery 3) refined 4) transported again to the gas station. Each of these stages burn lots of energy.
This car? A mix of Nuclear, Wind, Solar, Coal, etc. can provide power to the air compressor. Some of these things are transported efficiently once by train. Power plants are at least 2X the best efficiency of an engine. Electricity isn't transported on tankers, trains or trucks either.

These will be made in Mexico in a few months to be sent to France. American rules would make this car to heavy to be practical.
However if it was made like the old Trihawk then these rules will no longer apply due to it being designated as a motorcycle.
I see that alot of people actually do not believe what they are seeing but it is true.

The actual is 7.2km at 30kph. The claims are fairy tales.

This is a bullshit!
Efficiency of a process that compresses air and then expands is very poor - few percents 2-5%, so you need a large amount of energy (oil, carbon,...) to run this cars.

No cars are being sold and none will be as it's a con. You need a 4000psi compressor to fill the tanks for a miserable 5 mile range at 25mph.

they have been ordered to be used as taxis in mexico, they run at up to 60 mph for a distance of 120 miles. the problem is the electricity used to compress the air is significant and just moves emissions to the power station. also it takes like four hours to fill the 300 litre tanks unkless you have a high powered air hose it can be done in 3 minutes

I suppose you could - but I don't think the tool is efficient enough for that particular application. All of the components would have to be lightweight to maximize distance.

A/C is nice, but what about heat? By using compressed air, there are no gas explosions in the engine, driving the pistons, generating the heat. I live in Wisconsin, and heat is required. Anyone know if they're incorporating some type of heating system into these?

I hate laws like that. It's ridiculous. At least have a seperate tax for these, like, maybe a flat tax on the purchase?
or maybe they should be allowed to operate without paying the fuel duty. perhaps an incentive for decreasing dependency on forien oil and halping the invironment, whether you believe in global warming or not.

No you are wrong. Nuclear energy is green. You have been brainwashed. There are new ways for disposal of nuclear waste including recycling most of it. The Navy has had about 50 reactors running consistanly for 60 years now. No accidents. No spills. If you think coal is green your an idiot. Solar can't produce enough and neither can wind. So unless you want to go back to the dark ages your going to have to accept Nukes.

NO its not after a period the radiation cause hydrogen embrittlement of the metals and its useless. you might get 100 years from a reacotr and then it has to sit their and be sealed. If you used solar and wid to make compressed air for the car being viewed here,you could also use it to run electric turbine during peak period. Some plants do this now to make better use of the off peak power. THERE ARE BATTERIES YOU CAN MAKE AS BIG AS A SWIMMING POOL TO DO THE SAME,IT WAS INVENTED 21 YEARS AGO.

I know thats wrong, hemp can produce 10 times the methanol of corn. in austrlia and bottom half of the usa if everyone had solar water then stip 10-20% off what you need now. IN EUROPE HEAT PUMPS are the go, use heat in the groundall year to make hot water and heat and cool your house, you can do the same in the USA. In many plastics and food industry heat pumps would reduce energy cost by 40%. The world is dumb, the solutions are there, there is no will to do things

The Uranium is not a large problen. The amount of Uranium used could fit in a shoe box. There is no problem storing it. It is the lower level by products that get contaminated. Everything from wrenches to pipe. Contaminated water has to be stored but it's half life is no way near what you seem to think it is. As for name calling. If your a liar then your a liar. If your so insecure as to get all upset over people pointing out the truth. Go crawl back under your rock.

nuclear is not green and batteries are horrible if you dont think their that bad go get some from a land fill and eat some of the acid polluting the earth and no plants are needed to get compressed air it can be made at your house or at better more efficent place like an OUTDATED,UNNEEDED,DEADLY NUKE PLANT and oil companies can become wind power companies and we and focuse on hydro power and solar but people like you prevent that

Yes, the third is the most likely danger. Or they just make the competition implausible. That's all it takes. So far MDI has been very shy and moved with small steps. That is probably exactly because this. Still, they don't seem to be going away. They get further and further and won't disappear with mere "wonderful allegations".
