Configuring M Audio Axiom To Sonar

I'm in sonar 8.5 and when i click on controllers, the input ports say none even when i select the ACT midi controller. How did you get that 61 key thing to show up?

just one question tho. are you using aftertouch on your Axiom? I can't seem to figure out just what it does inside Sonar. It doesn't seem to control any VST knobs or generic transport controls. have you figured out how to set up AT?

hey i got an axiom 25 pro tools 8 and windows 8 any ideas on how to hook up my midi key controller to pro tools?

Windows 8? U must have meant 7. But for Axiom 25 and Protools just go to the M-audio website and you should be able to dowload the free software for it.

What should I do when Sonar (I have Sonar 6) doesn't show Axiom in the input port list?

If you can't find Axiom in the controller preset, update sonar to 6.1 or higher.

If you can't find Axiom in a track input, make sure to turn Axiom on before booting up Sonar.

I just made the switch Sonar 8.5PE(x64) Ive been using Ableton for years (and will probably switch back as soon as they go x64). Thanks for this informative vid. Learning Sonar is already like greek to me, but you made getting my Axiom49 (and Trigger Finger too) set up a breeze. Wow that ACT feature sure is swee..eee..eeet. ;)

I have sonar 7 home studio and an axiom 25 and i did what you told me until i found there wasn't a preset for the axiom 25 and now im stuck... please help!

Does anyone know of any instructions for Sonar 5 and AxiomPro 49? I really can't afford (at the moment) to upgrade to 8 as of yet, but Ill be able to soon once I get some money saved, lol.

Thanks for this vid. I set up my 25. For some reason when I made the "Cakewalk Generic..." it kinda messed things up with the transport. I ended up deleting it and everything was straight. Thanks again for the info.

this is good stuff. I'm hoping to play around with this soon. I have SONAR 7 and the Axiom 25. Seems like it would be same process, correct? Do you have to go thru this same process for every new song? Or is it saved?

it saves the preset, you can also save it in your axiom. SO you could save it as preset 20 or something. DOnt save it as 10, 17,18,19 10 is for reason, the other three are the automap to Ableton

hey is there anyway you could post a video on how to rewire reason 4 into sonar and create the proper tracks and such. i've followed the directions i have but somehow it keeps messing up.

I will try and make one, tonight....I have the problem that it does not put the sound out in stereo..I have to run one track "stereo 3" the other "Stereo 4" If that makes sense but I will cover it!

i think when you select. yea that was one of my concerns with the whole stereo thing, but i'm unsure if its even a real problems because when i look in the console view those channels actually seem to be coming through in stereo. rewire just somehow messed with my original sonar tracks and i'm not sure whats happening .

wow thanks for the video. I was getting frustrated reading the help files and getting no where. this helped me set up my axiom 49 in 5 min flat. my workflow has improved greatly. thanks again.
