In my opinion Hardcore Mode is what made New Vegas great. I think New Vegas wouldn't have been nearly as good with just Fallout 3 gameplay, Fallout 3 is still the best Fallout game I've played but it was because of the story and the whole feel. New Vegas feel and story aren't as refined but Hardcore Mode makes up for that in leaps and bounds.... if only Bethesda made an update to Fallout 3 with a Hardcore Mode... Will await Fallout 4 on pins and needles... NV DLC's will just have to do.

played over 150 hours of FO3. currently 175 hours on NV.
For me, i haven't had these issues. sure i get a gecko stuck in a cliff wall, or a random freeze going into vats while the auto-save is going. but i anticipate this and save often. ALSO the new patch has fixed much of the issues, so maybe give it another go.

I've had tons, eg. game crashing every time I try and buy something, about a fucking million invisible walls (don't make it look like you can go there if you can't! asshole developers), updates making old saves no longer work, freezing, getting stuck in scenery (more than FA3), NPC turning hostile for no reason, etc etc etc. I stopped playing. It was released incomplete so fuck them, I won't support shit dev or publishers only interested in your money. DLC is BS too

@GuitarTonttu Depends on you. Fallout 3 GOTY is a great game (not perfect) but it gives you a lot more bang for your buck, as it comes with all the DLCs for Fallout 3. Fallout NV still has some bugs, which are slowly being fixed, and a DLC called "Dead Money" in the near future.
It's up to you really. If you feel like waiting for a year for the game and DLCs sure, but if you want it now then get the regular version right now. But I guess if you want an everything in one then sure, wait for the GOTY.

@TheDmitriysky It is a very good game, I liked it way more than Fallout 3, but my only suggestion is wait till' they fix the glitches. There are so many that it will ruin your gaming experience, practically making it impossible to complete the game.
But working for House sucks because he's really bossy and I do not appreciate his attitude. He doesn't care about you, he just cares about himself until his priorities are done. But personally, I hate most factions in a way. I eventually kill all or at least most off. Only the deserving ones.
3. Definitely, it's a great game and although there is some bugs the world is incredibly atmospheric and the story and side quests are written extremely well. There's just so much great content in it.

@impersonator280 Actually, 3 is better than New Vegas, in some ways. See, New Vegas crashes and glitches more than the DLC for the third one, The Pitt. The voice acting isn't all that good too. None the less, Fallout New Vegas is a great game, but since the reflexes and largeness cause most of the crashes, I'm sticking to Fallout 3 for now.
I haven't had any crashes and the only glitches I recall are where I see NPCs getting stuck in the ground but quickly get themselves out of he situation. So the complaint of bugs is very minimal as it only effects some people. Though I hope that all damaging bugs are fixed quickly.

This game is so awsome, it may have million bugs sometimes, crashes but this is how it should be done. F3 and F:NV is two of my favorite games of all time, simply becasue its so big, and you can roam and do what ever you feel like, many games claim to have that but not many come even close to come close to come close to this ^^ Altho, less crashes and bugs would ofc been nice ;)

i like fallout 3...I'd rather have an elder scrolls IV...and just hearing him say that stimpacks take time to heal, just pissed me off more than ever...fun game...but it's not going to be better than the great fallout 3...in fact...i'd almost say it's going to be a step down for bethesda...

@impersonator280 Actually, 3 is better than New Vegas, in some ways. See, New Vegas crashes and glitches more than the DLC for the third one, The Pitt. The voice acting isn't all that good too. None the less, Fallout New Vegas is a great game, but since the reflexes and largeness cause most of the crashes, I'm sticking to Fallout 3 for now.

I haven't had any crashes and the only glitches I recall are where I see NPCs getting stuck in the ground but quickly get themselves out of he situation. So the complaint of bugs is very minimal as it only effects some people. Though I hope that all damaging bugs are fixed quickly.

This game is so awsome, it may have million bugs sometimes, crashes but this is how it should be done. F3 and F:NV is two of my favorite games of all time, simply becasue its so big, and you can roam and do what ever you feel like, many games claim to have that but not many come even close to come close to come close to this ^^ Altho, less crashes and bugs would ofc been nice ;)

besides you get a good experience and over 60 hours of fun in a standar playthrough (if you get lucky and dont lose your game in the minefield of bugs and glitches), a shitload of good content i tell you.
all in all its worth playing, superior to F3 in every aspect and actually a worthy sequel to fallout 1 & 2.
