@BloodPlzKThnxLol i dont think its nether. the plane looks like its powered by a turbo-prop and in the history iv rad of the mustang and 109, it looks like they have never been powered by a turbine. i think i saw picture this type of plane and i think The Air Museum Planes of Fame owns one
@EnterpriseXI You're probably right; that explains the thin nose. The flaps threw me off, though. Interesting plane for sure. Plus, the Messerschmidt has dive breaks. Flaps with holes in them. So that explains that, too.
The plane was a taildragger. The pilot cannot see anything in front of him for probably 100 feet. This is why taildraggers typically taxi in a zig zag motion, so the can see the runway or whatever is in front of them better. He simply did not see it, but he should have known it was there anyway.
Haha it's funny how idiots derail again topic of the movie on youtube. The video is about plane cutting down a heli, and people bring it down to some politics/religion shit.
i think it's funny seeing US people argumentig about democrats and republicans. 2 opinions from 2 lobbys/partys, how the hell should it ever happen that one of them is acting in the general meaning of the "small" people? it needs more lobbys, and decisions have to be made because the FOLK wants it to happen, and NOT because a lobby wants it to happen...
what the USA is calling "democracy" is a monarchy, in which you can choose a king for the next 4 years. ridicoulus.
Of course you conveniently forgot to mention that the UNION was in violation of federal law to begin with. And that the union striked because they weren't happy with the 11% pay raise that they were offered (twice what was being given to the rest of government employees) and demanded 17 TIMES that amount. Since the union made the decision to strike, very much in violation of the law, exactly what was the course of action? Especially with the public safety at risk because of the union?

At an event we'd often get marshalled. However, the marshalls are often CAP cadets about 16 years old. The important thing is to never taxi straight. Always be turning on direction or the other (in an S basically) so you can see. I could'nt see anything in front of me if I stood on the seat. Landing was easier than you'd think; just keeping the side of the cowling in relation to the edge of the runway. Take off is easy once you bring the tail up.
Whatever people said about P-51 is true for any tail dragger airplane. You can't see forward. And standard practice is to make S turns. Turn right or left, pick up the direction and then go there using some reference on the side. After a short distance stop, turn and do it again.
This works very well on the airports with paved taxiways, so you just look at the edge if it. But on the grass field there will be a problem.
It isn't the prop size that is the issue... by having the tail wheel so small the nose of the aircraft points at 30 degrees. All the pilot can see is sky as the nose is in the way. An issue all fighters had AND the infamous DC3 (though by being so high the pilot could look down out of the window)
its actually impossible to see directly infrount of u in these planes.. u need 2 slide ur window back and peak out the sides.. or better yet- tow it, not taxi. guy at the airport i work at has a plane very similar- preformance parts, the prop is so big it nearly touches the ground he has a riding lawnmmower he uses 2 tow it just off the runway cuz he cant see in it lol- looks pretty funny him towin it tho
It's a modified WWII plane. Originally built in switzerland. It was modified with a Turbine engine with about 500 hp. Throughout this modification the nose was extended to keep the center of gravity at the same point, caused by the leight weight of the turbine. A 3rd stabilizer was added to the plane aswell. DoFlug Altenrhein is handling one for example.
I wonder what was going on in his head when he was travelling towards the helicopter, that was a whole 6 seconds he had, and why was he near it anyway?!

That was the ONE drawback to the 51! You couldn't see CRAP in front of you on the ground due to the prop being so big.
