Its not classic country you retards, Barbara Allen was a traditional Irish balled written by Samuel Pepys' in his diary on January 2. 1666. It was classic folk, not country..lol..sigh research a song b4 you post morons.
@Dylanvs75 Just where did you think country music came from, huh? It came from the songs that country folk would sing on their front porches in the evenings, that would help sorten a task, that would lull a child to sleep. That's what makes this song classic country. Don't ever make the mistake that "country music" is limited to what the record execs would have us listen to. This was country, long before the "folk" label was applied to it.
@carollizc And this rendition is truly lovely. It's the sort of thing we like to play and sing in the backyard on a summer's night, except that we don't sound quite as good as this. Thanks, Memories64, for posting this, and please forgive my rant.
@Dylanvs75 The song is Scottish in fact, however Samuel Pepy's diary is the first mention of the ballad. In fact in Pepy's diary he calls it "little Scotch song of 'Barbary Allen'". So lets not isult others without having the proper information ourselves.
