I am a European (ooooooops, I know), but I watch Top Gear US as well as the regular British Top Gear and Fifth Gear. It is different, but is IS interesting and I like the dudes' humor etc. This jump is insane and I am glad Tanner made it uninjured. Must have been a GREAT relief... Also, it is quite impressive how the impact point was so close to the fixed camera. That's precision right there... CONGRATULATIONS!

At 2:24 he was talking about keeping the truck at the right pitch in the air.. the inertia of the wheels is what controls the pitch. Lock the brakes the nose will drop, give it gas the nose will come up.. like in motocross or anything else with an engine that gets airborne.

@omg101man Newton's third law of motion. You've got the wheels spinning at the equivalent of traveling at 100 mph. So they carry alot of rotational inertia. So if you brake, you are essentially transfering some of that inertial to the car instead.

Imagine a bicycle wheel on an upside down bike. Spin that up, and then grip the wheel with your hand. The wheel will try to pull your hand along with it. The same thing happens here: the wheels pulls the brakes and therefor the car along.

@Arocany when he leaves the jumpthe wheels are spinning, dapping the brakes stops them, so the centrifugal force from the rotation of the wheels is translated to the rest of the car when the brakes grip them - thus rotating the car forward. same story in reverse for hitting the accelerator.
