I know others have said this but I'm just adding to it to get the point home. 1] it is a great song 2] this version is by mama cass 3] her and Julie Andrews did indeed do a version together which is very good but this is not it. 4] Karen Carpenter may well of sung it at some point but I've never heard it and Cass had the hit with it. 6] yes indeed it was a great opening for that episode of lost and was heavely downloaded after it was broadcast.

This is not Karen Carpenter. It is Cass Elliot. The Carpenters never officially recorded it. For some reason, I noticed lots of people think the Carpenters sang songs they didn't.
