Also, a very good four parter. My only real critique with 'The Colour of Magic' the movie is, I'm sad to say, David Jason. He was fine as Albert, but completely wrong for Rincewind.
And it certainly was a sad, WTF? moment when I found out about Terry Pratchett's alzheimer's. I can only hope he is given the chance to have the end he wants (insofar as that is possible).
@GrannyGoddy Had to re-watch the vid to see what you meant about Blaster. Yeah had the toy for a few years now :-) Yeah David Jason was just wrongly cast as Rincewind. It's such a shame as I like him as an actor but the role wasn't right for him. I can't put decide who I'd have instead but it'd defanatly be somebody much younger. Terry Pratchett's illness hit me for 6. Suxh a shame for a mind like that to be lost. Yeah I hope he gets to go out as he wants. Thanks for watching mate.
@destructionsnakepit Somewhat ironically, I think Nicholas Lyndhurst (assuming they couldn't get/afford Eric Idle) would have been a better choice for Rincewind. Perhaps not quite young enough, but certainly gangly enough :-)
And yeah, here's hoping Pratchett has as good an end as possible.
@GrannyGoddy See I would have said Eric Idle after hearing him voice Rincwind in the point and click games but more so in his Monty Python days when he was as energetic as the role required. Nicholas Lyndhurst is someone I'd never considered before. As you say definitely gangly enough but again the whole "he's never achieved anything as a student therefore we have to make him out to be old" irks me. I'd love to see either Moving Pictures or Guards Guards given the Sky1 treatment but am very....

Yeah the cowardness wasn't really shown as we see in the book which was a shame but as I say after the first initial ten- fifteen minutes things improve and DJ adds his own take on the character which he does really well
Thanks, I love the books so much so I do want to do them justice. The accent does take some getting used to. Trish (my wife) really struggled to understand me when we first started talking. Have you seen my Mort review?
Blaster? Sweet...
