Malachi 3:10 is NOT addressed to, nor is it applied to anyone in the New Covenant.
The context is clear that God was addressing the SONS OF JACOB ONLY.
Tithing as an 'act of faith" is to be done ONLY IF the Spirit of God TELLS YOU TO DO THAT, because only THEY who are lead by the Spirit of God ARE the sons of God,
I highly doubt the Holy Spirit would tell someone to do something that is not meant for N.T. saints....

Well it seems from reading the New Testament that the Holy Spirit urged Christians to give everything they had. The outflowings of the Holy Spirit is still to be in accordance with The Word. Even the apostle Paul wrote of not being sure at times whether or not the spirit was acting upon him or if he was just speaking by himself. How are YOU to be sure without the Word?
So what parts of the O.T. are applicable to us at all??

Sounds like The Lord alright. Good. But you haven't really addressed what i said. Giving the Tithe as an act of faith. Malachi 3:10. I'm sure you know the verse mate. The Lord there makes it clear that Tithing can be done as an act of Faith. Which God grants salvation for. And that promise isn't limited to "the sons of Jacob" since Paul pointed out that ALL the promises in Him are yea and in Him Amen. And from Dr. Scott i learned that by Grace i'm saved through Faith.
Before the law, during and after, its now a NEW COVENANT and the "thieves and robbers" comment was for the sons of Jacob in Malachi's day ONLY.
In the NEW COVENANT, giving is NOT a percentage, its a heart attitude. "The gift is ACCEPTED according to what one HAS, NOT according to what he does NOT have."
That's right it is a new covenant. A covenant of grace given for faith. And tithing is an act of faith. A Commitment of giving to GOD's house in the faith that GOD will sustain you and provide for you no matter how dire things look financially. If one doesn't have enough faith in GOD for something so basic such as financial sustenance well then how far can one's faith progress.
The heart attitude still has to be guided by the Word. The heart attitude of the new testament church was to give ALL

I watched Gene Scott in the mid 80's with many of his unconventional theories.
The greatest teacher of the scriptures would be more humble. You can't be a
great teacher and lack humility. If you attend any seminary and have a prof like
Dan Wallace or even Rich Goodrich you would understand how average Gene
Scott's teaching is at the seminary level.
Most Pastors want to keep it simple...but there are plenty of expositors like MacArthur

Malachi 3:10 is NOT addressed to, nor is it applied to anyone in the New Covenant.
The context is clear that God was addressing the SONS OF JACOB ONLY.
Tithing as an 'act of faith" is to be done ONLY IF the Spirit of God TELLS YOU TO DO THAT, because only THEY who are lead by the Spirit of God ARE the sons of God,
I highly doubt the Holy Spirit would tell someone to do something that is not meant for N.T. saints....

Well it seems from reading the New Testament that the Holy Spirit urged Christians to give everything they had. The outflowings of the Holy Spirit is still to be in accordance with The Word. Even the apostle Paul wrote of not being sure at times whether or not the spirit was acting upon him or if he was just speaking by himself. How are YOU to be sure without the Word?
So what parts of the O.T. are applicable to us at all??

I have news for you. God has sustained me WITHOUT GIVING A DIME IN YEARS. I gave given all through my life and the Lord is not waiting to supply needs before we give. That I can testify to be experience. Scott had this way of making God some need holding back tithing dictator that was not at all in line with KNOWING JESUS.

Sounds like The Lord alright. Good. But you haven't really addressed what i said. Giving the Tithe as an act of faith. Malachi 3:10. I'm sure you know the verse mate. The Lord there makes it clear that Tithing can be done as an act of Faith. Which God grants salvation for. And that promise isn't limited to "the sons of Jacob" since Paul pointed out that ALL the promises in Him are yea and in Him Amen. And from Dr. Scott i learned that by Grace i'm saved through Faith.

In the NEW COVENANT, giving is NOT a percentage, its a heart attitude. "The gift is ACCEPTED according to what one HAS, NOT according to what he does NOT have."

That's right it is a new covenant. A covenant of grace given for faith. And tithing is an act of faith. A Commitment of giving to GOD's house in the faith that GOD will sustain you and provide for you no matter how dire things look financially. If one doesn't have enough faith in GOD for something so basic such as financial sustenance well then how far can one's faith progress.
The heart attitude still has to be guided by the Word. The heart attitude of the new testament church was to give ALL

I was a "King's House" for 13 years with Dr. Scott.
His tithing message put me in bondage so badly that I lost contact with JESUS.
I will never support this ministry again.
Tithing is NOT for CHRISTIANS!
"These YOU aught to have done..." was spoken to PHARISEES.
Scott was DEAD wrong on this.

I know too what it is like to be in a ministry or organization that thinks they have exclusive rights to your mind! I am sorry you endured that.....I am also sorry to say I have given careful consideration to either agnosticism or athiestism. Just right now, I am done with ANYTHING that has "christianity" attached to it. I do enjoy T.D. Jakes, Chuck Swindall, and Joyce Meyer :)

Abraham paid tithe to Melchizedek. That was before the Law(Torah/Commandments) was given. GOD called them thieves and robbers who didn't pay theirs. Why is it only for Pharisees if it was before the Law?

After a couple of years of watching Melissa, and knowing nothing of her "past", and never having seen her late husband, I'm shocked about this. (His trying to shame ppl into giving). Pastor Melissa hides her past and is elusive and vague, but if the "adult" pics are true, she has an awesome testimony, which is nothing to be ashamed of. Jesus sought such ppl...the "lowest" on society's rungs...to follow Him. Plus, I think if she were a man, she wouldn't get an iota of the flak she gets.
