  • Sound isn't stereo.

  • Or you can buy a Total War game...

  • love it!

  • Why not use OSB board for the table instead of Plywood? It's cheaper and just as good for what it will be supporting. It's rougher, but seeing as you'll probably be painting over with glue that doesn't really matter.

  • what type of wood are the 1x2 planks? also do you have any warping issues with these kind of boards?

  • @Atreides864 I think he is using Furring Stripes they are for light framing.

  • dave can teleport too?!

  • Hi i was wondering if it would be good to make a gamming terrain out of plaster of paris cuz its strong its easily carvable and its inexpensive so if anyone wants to let me know what they think it would be great oh and the boards gonna be a 7 by 3.5 probly modular just cuz it takes up quite a bit of space thanks for the input everyone! :)

  • u do everything so quick!!!

  • thums up for awsome sounds

  • Wonderful online video media! Need to make around 500 Bucks day every day? Around 2600 satisfied individual consumers have been applying this process at the moment! Visit roulettecash !! or)

  • the glasses suit u. lol. the waaaagh remains. lol. i like pie

  • the music is in my nightmares

  • also forgot to mention that you should use a countersink bit to make the screws flush with the board instead of just powering them down into the wood

  • 0:47 trim off an inch and a 1/2 from what? 8 feet?

  • nice glasses :P

  • lol you didint ware your gogglels

  • Would furring strips work for the frame? They're dirt cheap and look like they would...

  • @SickWaffles1294 I think he is using Furring Stripes and just didn't know what they were...regardless they do work, and for more cheapness I'd use OSB instead of plywood.

  • 2:03 gene stealer screech

  • its half not haf

  • THANKES now i can bild a bord u rock miniwargaming dav :)

  • 1x2's ... First of all its the bigger number before the smaller e.g. 3x2 ... and 2x1 is called baton when you ask at the store for the timber.

Not that I'm being pedantic lol

    Its mind boggoling

  • lol you forgot to line up the board before drilling it is uneven lol

  • nice shop for not being a "carpenter"

  • u dont have to use plywood i made 1 out of insulation foam and it works just as fine

  • @woofdoggy102 Yeah that works, but they don't last very long. It is cheap though.

  • i use spackel to get my wood things on lol

  • Im making a 'how to make warhammer terrain, watch it, its called How to make warhammer terrain (pipes)

  • I HAVE THAT SAME DRILL

  • yer but screews are the best

  • dude needs a nail gun

  • i love how you tell every1 to wear the safety goggles then take them off when u do the work..

  • hahah lol thats true he did take them off

  • lol, handyman dave

  • ahh... that is so funny, :D

  • lol dave is funny "even if you look ridiculusly handsome in them"

  • Great video but what about legs? To me the most important thing is sturdiness but I can't seem to find anything on the actual legs construction, etc. And I really don't want to have to resort to saw horses.

  • I've seen people go find cheap fold able table and just take off there legs to attach to a terrain board, don't know how hard it would be to edit it on though.

  • not very u sicko

  • Dave is awesome 1000000/1000000

  • still no response!?

  • wheres the voice do u here it or is it just me ?

  • reli gd table, but i wudnt teach kids or their parents to drilll holes whilst holding the wood frame, inches away from where ur drilling. call me paranoids or stupidly safety conscious, but only wen it comes to drills coz i had a nasty accident in college once :(

  • I can picture it now.....

    I think I'll build something.

Now I just gotta drill a hole in this, and.......

AHHHHHHHHHHH I got a Jebus style hole in my hand.

lolz, hope the accident wasn't realy as bad as that tho.

  • lol i wish i had gotten a nice neat jesus hole in my hand, nah, it wasnt too deep, but it did sorta chew my thumb up quite nicely :/

  • hm thats actually a nice work shop

  • Hello everyone, im very new at 40k and i have a question what exactly is the difference between editions in the game? like ive heard 4th and 5th ed. of space marines so does that mean that units and rules from back in 2002 and 2003/older editions are no good for the new editions people use today? im a little confused on this if any one could help me id appreciate it very much ^^ thx

  • Ummm I think what your saying is the rules in the codexes are different per edition of it they make. i recommend you just get the newest codex. oh and also i recommend you get assault on black reach if you want space marines :P

  • ahh i see, so i need to just go get the newest codex for which ever army im using ^^ ty

  • i wish i could work as fast as you!

  • lol

  • thanks dave now i know how to do!:D

  • u make my lyf so much easier

  • dave the builder....!!:::

  • can he fix it! Dave the builder Yes he can!! lol

  • u dont really need a frame do you?

i cant get the wood for 1 =( but i can get the wood for the acctually playing area

  • yeahyou kinda need the frame or your models slide off the edges, but you can just go down to B&Q and get the supports quite cheaply.

  • ooow i cant do the gaiming board because i dont have any room for it >:(...........

  • do what i did hinge the middle so u can fold a 4x4 and fit it almost anywhere

  • they should have magnetized legs and use green stuff instead of wool

  • This was the first MWG vid I watched! I made this board to!

  • What glue is this??

  • how do you get legs on it?

  • foget i said that, i didn't realise it was a board, and not a table. hehe woops

  • can you use styrafoam instead of wood?

  • i wouldnt suggest styrofoam is hard to get cheap..(free) now.. id sugest wood ftw but stirfoam for alll the other things(and cardboard) :)

  • yeah no, that will brake.

  • i recommend getting the 8x4 sheet of insulation foam, cutting it in half and binding it with thin ply wood, then if u have obstacles or terrain peices you can attach wire pegs and insert them into the foam board

  • i was quite lucky because my dad managed to get a board the same size and about the same thickness :)

  • Hehehe I love the music in the background.

  • HAHA yeah thats fuuny.

  • he didnt wear the goggles... lol

  • Good vid and music in the background is funny lol

  • ok not difficult cuzz thats my profecian

work with wood (don't know the enlish translation for it)

do you have vids of terrain making pls let me know

  • i amde a gaming table worked relly well thnx =D

  • tehe.. miniwargaming dave can teleport around the game table that how hardcore he is at warhammer xD ^__^

  • great vid! need to make a board....and yes i too look rediculously handsome in goggles!

  • I did thatsame thing but I but i put the siding pieces 2-3 inches in so the board wood straten out more

  • why don't you just put a support cutting through the middle of the frame.

  • amezing vid

  • Thanks alot

  • i love the muisc

  • great video but annoying music.

  • One thing i must say is that, if you dont have a drill bit to make the holes, dont worry because its not needed, all you need are self tapping screws that you can get in every DIY or trade store, your probably find them somewhere in your garage if your old man is anything like mine. O and make sure there wood screws.

  • bad quality of wood it looks like its curved a lil :S

  • If you've been to lumber stores, alot of the wood is bent. It's not bad quality wood, it's not bad quality cut. Wood generally warps when cut, left to dry and if it's put into storage where other weight is applied onto. Which is normally the case.

My first warhammer board was just a sheet 4x6 and within a year it had warped and didn't lay down flat so it's always good to reinforce it.

  • I feel your pain, i also look ridiculously handsome in goggles.

  • Wow, these are some great videos. My friends and I are planning to build our own gaming board, and these will help alot.

  • You guys have very informative videos. I'll be showing my son these videos, he wants to learn.

  • omg that'd ttake me ages i'm rubbish at carpentry i only do plastering and i was lucky to get a c on gcse resistant materials!!! luckily one of my best mates is a really good carpenter so i could ask him to do it for me lol

  • It's actually not that hard. You can have your lumbermill do all the cutting for you, and then you just put it together.

  • i got a freinds who actully has about 56 - 70 salmander troopers

  • yeah thats gonna be seen alot more now adays with apocalypse, i have like 60 models for my chaos

  • Question...is 40k designed to be played on 4x4 boards? the reason i ask is cause my gaming club plays on a 4x6 board.

  • It is usually played on a 4x6 or 4x8 board. We like to create 4x4 boards because they are more flexible (i.e. LoTR plays best usually on 4x4, and we can combine two to make a 4x8 board).

  • depends if you mean apocalypse or not.

it says something about it like alpha is 4x4 i think

4x6 and 4x8 are more common in 40k though, i believe they use 4x6 in my closest GW store

  • So how much is all the wood? im thinking on making one myself..and im on a budget lol

  • you can also use chipboard. Its cheaper than plywood but if ur gonna paint it you need to make a thicker coat of giprock (the white putty stuff that you put into holes in walls) but that make it more easy to form the detalis in the terrain like wheel ruts and craters.

  • Ah, thanks for the tip

  • nice! when i make my gamin boards they are mostly made from scrap material and so arent really great quality and the latest ones bent... all 4 of them.... :D ... but they bent in a pretty cool way... 2corners up and 2 down on each board so i can either choose to have a hill in the middle or a valley... mostly like 1-2inch height....

anywayz are u gonna be makin any lord of the rings terrain guides?

  • Thanks!

Actually, the board only cost us $12 to make in raw materials, so it should be within almost anybody's budget to buy the materials rather than using scrap.

And yes, we do have LoTR stuff on our website right now. At the moment we are focusing a bit on Warhammer 40K or generic terrain, but we will be turning our attention to the other games as well soon.

  • my 4 50x50cm boards (arround 20x20 inch i think) cost me $2 and thats NZ dolars so thats like 1$-$1.30 american?

anywayz painted and all they are like $20-$25 NZ together.... and what i've been lookin up i could probably sell them for $10-20 each

and cool! cant w8 till you turn ur attention! :D i only do lotr

  • You guys would make exce;;ent apocalypse terrain im sure.

but it was only $12 for hte materials??? where did you get them?
