So you've talked to 'most' kiwis I take it? at least 51%?
My opinion is 'most' Kiwis have no clue about politics at all and think whatever the tv says and don't think about it at all, and make real general statements and refuse to elaborate on their statements as they're baseless to begin with. Agree?
True that! The horrible thing about 'communism' is that often people who call themselves communists and the countries that call themselves communist, don't follow Marx.
...ah what the hell, it's a wasted effort trying to kick start someone like you into self thought.
Just piss off and vacinate the hell out of your kids with whatever your government tells you is compulsory, ... stuff flouride tablets down their necks (coz the government says it's good for them) - and don't forget to have them chipped because it's all in their best interests you know, ... just like government tells you.

Being a new parent is more important than understanding anything, so I get why you're a bit bored by it. Although it has had a hell of a lot more hits than your kids videos, maybe there's a lesson in that.
Your comments, from my interpretation, are against democracy, against the intelligence of the entire (truly awesome) nation of New Zealand and your deletion of people's comments of dissent are against freedom of speech.
I may not like John Key particularly but I'm happy that we have a democratically elected PM (to be). Better than Saudi Arabia or North Korea.
When John Key screws up re the future of NZ then I'll be the first one to throw sheep poo at him but for now - just chillax buddy :)
Democracy is when 51% can rule the other 49%, is that a free society?
And how exactly could one be against intelligence?
I've lived in this country all my life.
Which comments did I delete?
And if you think someone getting democratically elected is the case look how they get their campaign funding, take the US for example, supposedly every president was democratically elected, but how do you explain every single one of them from Washington to Obama are related to the British royal family?
And also that you were making a huge generalisation when you said that everyone voted because of who they saw most on telly. I guess it wasn't meant to be taken literally but it came across pretty unjustified/biased/harsh because it's like saying you can't think of anyone who voted with a level head and for reasons of their own.
And I agree that four years makes a huge difference!! I think the voting age should be 21. I'm 18 and I'm not mature enough to vote! (I wasn't 18 for the election)
Well my point was that there are a large amount of people who don't know that TV can influence your thinking, and that large group were influenced during this election primarily with regard to media bias. Did you know that 90% of business CEOs in New Zealand wanted John Key for prime minister? It's not surprising what the result was.
Quote @lyssih; "I agree that four years makes a huge difference!! I think the voting age should be 21. I'm 18 and I'm not mature enough to vote! (I wasn't 18 for the election)"
Wake up and realise that your vote doesn't count.
You don't think the powers that be would leave something as imporatant as which of their puppets sits on the throne to mere chance and the whim of the populace do you?
Ok, came on a bit strong and after re-reading your comments and mine I was a bit silly but it does look like u've deleted comments because of ur replies not seeming to be replying to anything...
I don't know how relevant it is who a leader is related to... would you discriminate against someone just because they were related to Hitler? But at the same point I see ur point so iuno!
What I meant to say was that we should be grateful we live in NZ and we don't live our lives in fear (like in the US
There are a lot of people in new zealand who live in fear, half a million cannabis smokers for example constantly have to be aware that what they do to feel relaxed and calmed could get them thrown in prison.
But, don't be fooled by New Zealand, although we think we're a very safe country, the government is gearing up to bring in corporate socialism in the next few years. So we need to be aware of how they're planning to do this. Search public private partnerships 101
The Debate over National or Labour is like a debate between braeburn apples and pacific rose. They're both fruit, they both are around for the same purpose and their both in competition to be the best. And just like an Apple, I think they should both be crunched.
If we want any change these two bloated behemoths that feed on the gullable populace must be ignored. Minor parties and radical policys create big changes. Not These Gigantic cockroaches.
I don't think people are making mistakes, they're simply too stupid to even make a decision based on sound reason, then vote for whichever political party they see on tv the most. Welcome to the mediaocracy, a wonderful system of govt where all you have to do is watch tv and do what ever it tells you to, no thought necessary! LOL
actually ur not even old enough to vote, nor are you mature enough to know much about politics and the way of government. and i dont want to see you write to me that i know nothing because im actually am a politics major at university. sorry you have no arguement so dont even try it
You'll be surprised what you can learn in 4 years. Think how much you've learned and how different school is compared to 4 years ago.
For me 4 years ago I've learned more than the previous 19 before it.
I'm not even remotely the same person.
Just remember if you're going to engage in debate you need to ground yourself, use the web to get your information, tv and newspapers are all propaganda. That's what studying media teaches you, and I only learned that a little over a year ago.
yes, because of course, what has the past ever taught anyone? We should never study history, in fact if we could all have day by day amnesia so we never had to be responsible for being informed the world would work much better. And no Corrupt politicians would ever remember to fuck over their people.
But one interesting thing about history, in the 20th century the leading cause of deaths was peoples own governments 180 million. But of course our government would NEVER do bad things to us aye?
Good work Penny. That shonkey Keys has a lot to hide [Hyde.] If people stop and think if Rusty Keys gets in he brings that Hyde baggage with him. Remember him along with Rodger Douglas who stuffed the country up before plus National stole the super fund before and trying to do the same again. Keys is cheat and liar. if only people would think back and realise what National did in the past. Shipley stuffed up health and also Assets sold and thing Big in Muldoons era cost the country billions.
quite happy with all the information I have gleaned so far as a matter of fact. I will not be taking the word of a known trouble maker on board when I show up to give national my two ticks tomorrow. If we are talking about politicians and amnesia... let us not forget paintergate!!! GO THE NATS!!! yippee!!!
um... rephrase that... "LABOUR YOU LOSER!!!" more appropriate don't you think? have you been in a coma for the past week blueheeler??? they lost! build a bridge and get over it!!!
At least I'm not an old bitter wife beating child raping digger driving beer swilling pot bellied trucker cap wearing me tarzan you janeing little slave who can only count to ten if he's barefoot or wearing sandals.
wtf? you need to up your meds you freak!!! I am actually a woman using my hubby's account (who also thinks you're off your rocker) go back to your bong and leave reality to the rest of us. You need help.
Ok so now we both know what we disagree on. Now we need to find things we do agree on.
Do you think selling state assets to foreign corporations is a great idea? yes/no
Do you think labour increasing the health budget 3 fold and having 12000 beaurocrats and 12000 hospital beds, plus increasing the amount of deaths caused by the health sector to 3 times that of the road toll is good for new zealanders?
question 1, it was under labour's reign that this was most prevelant. but personally I don't agree with selling your house only to rent it back of some fat-cat landlord. second question, all I know about the health system, is that my aunty has had to wait for three years to have her insides put back into her body (graphic sorry). and my uncle would have been dead by now if he hadn't had his heart attack in australia where he immediately had stents put in and is now in fine health.
and my husband (under labour) as a self employed man with children to support couldn't even afford to go and get his, mine or our kids teeth fixed because we aren't on a benefit and thus did not fit into labours voter criteria. thank you for your dialogue but I would prefer not to get any more emails from you. I should not have let my temper flair, and for that I apologise.
yeah I do get fired up sometimes, sorry if I hurt your feelings.
I've just become really disillusioned with our political spectrum, I want NZ to build geothermal power plants (sustainable energy uses the heat from the core of the earth) and get rid of the hydro dams, I want the south Basin oil reserves to be tapped so NZ doesn't need oil from overseas. And I want a 1% MMP so most people will get represented in government to ensure that dissent, debate and diversity is encouraged in parliament.
you sound passionate. why not write to the new prime minister and voice your concerns/ideas. I have done this and have been treated with respect and as a real person. I am glad John Key is leading us, I am willing to give him a chance to take us out of the mire we are in and into an exciting future. It could be the best thing that has happened to this country. Here's hoping aye. All the best.
Yes it's true labour did sell a lot of state assets through public private partnerships and contracting out to corporations. And National has done the same thing in the past.
So in at least 1 way the two major parties are the same. I've had nearly half my family get cancer, and the doctors kill them more often than not with chemotherapy so for their last few years are really ill and still die anyway. Our health sector is a joke and I do hope that ACT with NATS do something to stop this madness.
Yes obviously trouble makers are dangerous and need to be ignored at all costs, people like Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, Alex Jones, George Washington, Captain James Cook, David Lange, yip certainly the worst humans to ever be alive, what a bunch of trouble makers!
