Hey nice vid but i have a few questions

my iphone 3Gs was at 3.1.2 old bootrom and jailbroken fully i.e. untethered. Unfortunately it got bricked =\ and i had to restore and upgrade to 3.1.3. Would this OS upgrade also upgrade the bootrom? Also when you downgrade firmware does this downgrade the bootrom? If i luckily have OS 3.1.3 old bootrom which jailbreak option do you suggest.

QUESTION: you mention on the restore "if on a pc then press shift ---- if on a mac press option" how would this work on a mac using NOTEPAD from XP? just checking because i think you are using parallels, like i am. Can you do this process on Notepad then switch over to OS X for iTunes?

if your on Windows VISTA or 7 remember to right click note pad and run as administrator or it will not save ..

If you have the iPhone 3GS and you updated it to 3.1.3 firmware on accident youre screwed because it's not gonna work. My advise is to just wait patiently hopefully sometime soon they will come up with a way to downgrade and jailbreak it.

wont work, cant jailbreak because you cannot downgrade your baseband if you've already upgraded to 3.1.3, so if you have, you're gonna need to wait til the new 3.1.3 jailbreak comes out.

I love u bro, ur a lifesaver. I had 3gs, w/ old bootrom, unlocked, and once i reset ntwrk settings, it just went in apple logo loop. Ive scanned the internet for the past 2 wks since the only way to go was to 3.1.3 and lose everything. @bently14 check ur iPhone serial. The third number is the year. Example if the third number is 9, the year is 2009. And the 2 numbers after the year show what week. Example, my xx949xxxxxx So mine is the 49th week of 2009

basically when the iphone 3GS and iPod Touch 3rd gen were made they started to change the processors in the models for week 40 +. which is why you may get the error if you have the newer one.

U don't need a shsh file u can't download the 3.1.2 forward and restore your iPhone that way. It didn't work for me the first time cuz I didn't have the apple adress in my notepad but now I did that and it worked and now my iPhone is jailbroken and back to 3.1.2

From my research these past few days that if you update to 3.1.3 then you can do this but if you restore with no shsh saved then there is no way.... to downgrade or jailbreak. Anyone find a way let me know
