I love how much Costello puts his foot in his mouth...I actually find it likable and can relate to it....although I realize that is many people's problems with him

Thanks for posting...I've always thought it was hilarious that he mentioned all those songwritng teams and didn't mention Elton John & Bernie Taupin! Elton just inducted him and he's standing right behind him and you can tell he's getting pissed because he's not hearing his name :)

The palpable tension between Costello and restless Bruce Thomas behind him really hangs over this. It's a shame Costello couldn't just thank Thomas for the brilliant bass-playing that drove those early records, instead of awkwardly dragging up their relationship as a seque to how much he misses Joe Strummer.
