how much do you figure the race exhaust adds to the power? i'm thinking of getting basically that same bike and it has the stainless steal race exhaust from Buell just like that one and the "race" ECM installed into it. can you feel the power difference or is the sounds just more bad ass? either way i think it's worth it i was just wondering, thanks ahead of time.

@01blacksleeper my xb puts out 104 hp and 86 lbs of torque... what other bike in the naked street bike class can compare to that? Ducati Monster 1100 - 95 hp 75.9 lbs torque, Triumph Street Triple 105 hp and 50 lbs of torque... This is a different category of motorcycles, I think you mistook this bike as a competitor for a liter Jap bike, we are a different class of riders.

@01blacksleeper Faster in a shitty car? Strange I've raced some pretty nice cars and smoked them, I've also went nose to nose with 600s in highway race conditions.  Right on the throttle I always pull from 600s cause I have so much more torque, they catch up and buy that time we are dong like 120 and we have to slow for cars. That's my experience, but what do I know?

look at the HP ratings, RPM limits.. my XB12R has just over 100HP with a drummer, redlines at 7500 RPM. a 600 class bike will beat me in the straight but i win on the line and in the corners.. V-twins dont rev line an inline. the jap bikes dont get that. its a torque vs HP game. both ways have their advantages and disadvantages. RIDE it before you decide it.

Jap bikes are not street bikes. They're race bikes with a headlight and signals attatched.

I live close to Deal's Gap and ride it all the time, and I'd take a Buell over a jap bike any day.

That exhaust looks stock, but it doesn't sound like it. Did you buy that from Buell? Do they sell a 'race' exhaust setup? That sounded really good. Love the sound of the HD engine. Sounds better than anything else on the road -- 2 wheels or more.

The exhaust is an official Buell factory race item which is no longer sold by Buell. The Buell race exhausts can be easily identified by the twin pipes at the rear of the can.

I'm old. I've seen bikes come and go. I remember seeing a new Ducati Desmo in the window of a shop and falling in love with the lines. I have the means now to get a bike. I've ridden the good one's. Triumph, Norton, BSA, Matchless, Harley. The Buell, talks to me. Like a BSA 500 gold star with clip-on bars and a TT pipe, but with disk brakes.
