  • So proud to say I was part of this

  • Wow, I feel bad for the band that goes after you on Saturday at Towson.

    Ohhh wait, that's us.

  • i got no idea what was going on when all of you guys were compressed and it seems like the textures are changing... i mean that looks good! but what was going on? (the wave thing is obvious but)

  • It was just various body visuals that each line was doing. My memory of it is a bit weak, but I think we were almost like punching in various directions.

  • we did something similar to what you guys did. i'm not trying to brag about our capes but we used that more than hand movements.

  • Everyone was punching either left, right or up.

  • Hands down the best show of my 4 years there! Best flagwork too, although the rain was a pain in the ass!

  • this is AMAZING...0.o gonna try my best 2

  • i always get the chills at 7:40

  • that would be the god block... yea

  • this is amazing!

  • this was possibly the best day of my marching life...I really hope that we can come back to Annapolis this year :D

  • lawrence n. shreds the gnar.

  • Everything in this is amazing. Sound wise formation wise everything! You must have a excellent director and past record at my guess. :D

  • This was the best show I was ever in. Robinson just seemed to do better when the conditions were dreadful. Rams 06.

  • Robinson shocking at VBODA Festival last year 06.

but good luck on this year.. i bet Mr. Stokes gone mad red last year lol

  • what happened?

  • WOW, I remeber this show as the best I've ever been in... even if it was raining. u can hear mr. Walker shouting in the pauses, lol

  • this sends shivers down my spine every time i se it... becasue i remeber how FREAKIN COLD it was

  • Good job. Such a large group needs to be extra careful with the front-to-back sound. Also, the drill could take advantage of the numbers and involve more pockets of movement. The entire band does not have to move as one. Get a better arranger, too. You have the players. Robinson Grad'84

  • Actually, Corky Fabrizzio arranged this for us and he's in the DCI Hall of Fame. Can't get much better than that.

  • that was great =) good job guys.

  • yeah. hey im not trying to be rude. i actually thought this show was amazing. just wondering what happened THIS year lol.

  • i didn't mean that in a bad way either!

  • Well it was raining all day so they moved the competition to the parking lot where the host school's band practices. It was on about a 15 degree tilt and a monsoon kicked up about twenty seconds into the show, knocked a sousaphone or two down. I thought we did well just to get an excellent based on the conditions. The sun shone for the next two bands who, who got superiors. I'm not defending our show, cause it sucked, but I think we performed in unfair conditions based on what the others had

  • they go to Woodson. I would make a derogatory comment at this time, but I generally find it not polite to make rude comments about other marchers...

  • i know! you guys just broke 19 years of honor band right there!

  • good job on not getting superior at VBODA this year...hahahahaha

  • yea what happened there?

  • Look, there's me! I still love this show!

  • W.T. Woodson marching > robinson

  • This was a good show, the drill and technical part of it was great. The overall sound was good. However, the brass sounded a little muddy during the Jupiter themes. Especially when the tempo was brought down to like adagio

  • Again, that was because it was pouring down rain and freezing cold.

  • It seemed like a good idea, but I think that it would be better to march each one as one whole show. Last year a band in Colorado did Planets and it looked great, but I feel that this was too short. The part with First Suite was messed up, All the solos were in like 12 measures. Overall it was a kewl show though

  • What year was this recorded? One of my friends is in colorguard, so I'm guessing she's there...

  • this was recorded fall of 2005

  • very cool our concert band played all of those songs one year its cooler to see it being marched, was that second suite in F?

  • yup.. the little solos were from the 1st, 2nd and 4th movement of second suite in F. and the drum feature was the 3rd. the opener is the march from moorside suite. and the closer is jupiter from the planets suite.

  • haha. it grows on you a little. and you get some fun times out of it. who is this?

  • yeah

  • Ok jupiter is the only one there from the planets, and the real song is about 7min, but they reduced it. I didnt like it, the sound wasnt very clear and they pretty much killed jupiter.

  • who said that our show was called the planets?.. its the music of gustav holst.. and guess what? all the songs were by GUSTAV HOLST.. isn't it just amazing?

do you really expect us to march ALL of jupiter on the field? wouldnt that just get boring?

oh and fyi, the sound might have been clearer if it were for the POURING RAIN thats making all that static noise..

  • Dude did you check the other comments before mine? someone said they heard Mars, i said that there wasnt. And i was just adding a comment, not critisizing the vid. Ive played the original Jupiter with an orchestra and i was just making a comparison. I didnt care much about the static, I was talking about the beat, pitch and articulation.

  • But hey, inspite of the rain, we got an incredible baby count!

  • Comment removed

  • what songs are those??? i want to know???

  • One was Jupiter one was First Suite in Eb and the other one was...crap...I forget. I'll figure it out later.

  • its mars the bringer of war i think

  • Mars isn't in there.

  • oh i thought it was lol stupid me

  • its music from the Second Suite in F

  • awesome show. i saw it at vboda at battlefield.

  • Awesome sound Robinson! Now clean up the lines and intervals and this band would stomp em all!

  • Hey Guys I'm from the Lake Braddock Color Guard and you guys did awesome this year! you guys totally deserve it! I'm not like a bitch where like "hate" you guys becuz thats bad sportsmenship or "marchingbandmenship" lol and I love your GUARD TOO! I'm Jealous =]
