@MO3MINI Thanks Dan, I have a couple of ideas that should make for a nice lighting display when I get the genny finished. I'd recommend these digital tachos to all engine tinkerers, great for setting up carbs, governors, driven equipment... A basic optical model can be had from HK/China for about £7.50 inc P&P from ebay. Mine has both optical & contact modes (useful on small aircooled engines where there's only access to the end of a the crank) - about £24. Search 'digital tachometer'.
