@darkraven447 SNK has stated that Dead characters like Rugal won't be returning in the main series, only in dream matches. Orochi Characters like the hakkesshu are still options for main games though.

1)maybe the creators didnt wanted the orochi saga connected to the nests saga because iori is related to orochi and he have the riot of the blood. so the nests didnt wanted to take a risk with that.

2)plus iori disappeared after the ending of kof 97.so nobody knew where he was.

3)maybe the creators wanted to continue the story with kyo.

4)but i would to agree to that kyo is the main char of kof.but still i like iori.and many more reasons

Welp, I'll have to admit I was never a big fan of this style of Kyo but apparently Kyo '99 (or something thereof, he's wearing his NESTS attire in the least) is going to be included in this game. So...with Iori '98 also back in the game, that means my entire CLASSIC KoF team is reunited (punch chain Kyo, flame power Iori, and K'). But I've grown to like slasher Iori at least so he's probably going to stay regardless if punch chain Kyo is also in the game.
