I was in section 111. That concert rocked. I have to say that 2001 in Boston was awesome. I wasn't there but the video was unreal how they led into Street have no name. Check out 05 in Chi-town as well. :)
Seeing them Sunday. Been listening to them since they released October. This is one of their masterpieces...only hope they play it for it is very rare that they do. Congrats to the Chicago crowd for being able to enjoy this.
I was there on GA floor near the front, with my big sis who got me into U2 at age of 12 (War album). We went crazy for this. In the beginning, the Edge was searching for the right key (this is when Bono makes joke about Edge looking "real confident"). Once Edge hits single note where he wants it, he physically turns around, back to audience, to complete a full measure to his liking, and you can sense he "locks in." So Bono gives a visable thumbs up.. and they're off. Chills!
@KoYou9NWTM You can hear that he's a half step too low, then listen carefully as they start the backing track at 1:02, and he's like, "ahh yeah that's it!!" and then he's off. Amazing how once you hit the trigger, it comes back like you've been playing every day. Wish I was there to witness it!! :)
@ddsgolfedge Good catch! Yeah it was incredible to witness. And I already was giddy from being at the Nashville show with the blind guitarist unplanned AIWIY encore. 2 show's i'll never forget.
This is great footage - in this day and age of nothing is spontaneous, for this band to put themselves out there like this is one for the fans. Thats why I loved the "All you can't leave behind tour" - less effects and more about just the music. U2 need this edge to keep them on top. I saw them in Melbourne and they were great. But I wish I had seen this live...
Wish U2 would ditch the whistles and bells a lot more, awesome off the cuff performance this.I was at glastonbury and when u2 stray off the script they are at there best for me. cheers for postin this
This has been my favorite song since the day it came out on the Joshua Tree. I cannot believe they played it! A perfect ending to a perfect show. Notice that the Edge switches to the fuzz tone at the end for the final solo. That has always been my favorite part of the song as it captures the mood of the lyrics and caps of the perfect song.
Who needs rehearsals - The Boys pulled this one off like straight from the studio:-) They need to keep this in the 'set' for the last few shows... Out Of Control appeared in Chicago also -- Glastonbury must have given them the taste of those 500 pounds!
Quite some moment there.. The real unique U2 vibe... Amazing! Thanks for posting fromout The Netherlands, I am going to enjoy this for a looooooong time.. :-))
I was there last night, and it was amazing during Pride..Bono was shocked that the crowd kept singing oh-oh-uh-uh chant after the song was done, and they only did the song on a whim, Bono brought up "One Tree Hill" before "Moment of Surrender" but they were not going to sing it, but the crowd convinced him to try...so they set it up with the road crew to give it a shot....Hence why Bono said if they messed up not to put on youtube..... it was amazing

This night was such a great set list. And bono was in great voice that night. His vocal strength kept building as the show went on.
