i asked my great grandmother whose 92 now and was born and raised in Georgia if she hated white people becase her farther was brutally mutilated and lyched in 1938...she said "honey hate will not get me to heaven, i have been forgave all those people who spit at us becase they did not kno what they do was evil..i have been moved on from that and you and YOUR generation need to learn to forgive..we have a black president now...be happy" she actually made me cry lol
@gogitta25 Hallelujah. As an Irish man I wish your great grandmother could come here and tell some of our British haters the same. There comes a time when you stand up, proud of your history but not defined by it and move on. She's a wise woman and I wish her long life and good health. And give her a hug from Ireland.
@tomjslattery We're hardly solely defined by that part of our history anymore, are we? Wasn't that the Queen making my route to work more awkward a couple of months ago? :) A few idiots, a natural residue of bygone days, aside, I would say we Irish have long moved on.
Awesome take from your side. So powerful it is .... the virtue of rising above all else and 'forgiving' ..... Jutst Letting Go! WOW and thanks for sharting.
god damnit people. would you all like to run government together? because thats called a true democracy. and that has never EVER worked in practice. so why don't you all stop complaining about the judicial system. maybe troy deserved to die, maybe he didn't. either way, its not for you to decide. thats why we have government. and its CERTAINLY not your job to soil the comment pages of videos like this with talk of those things. good day.
@theaaos the apology was never official. He just didnt perform at a concert people got mad, told him not to return, it was never on paper saying "you are banned" or whatever. goolge it, it says nowhere that is was official.
there needs to be change, no more innocent people need to die over the incompetence and outright corruption of our legal system. Innocent men die while baby killers go free all cause of "technicalities", whatever happened to using your intuition, common sense and morals. Its obvious our legal system has failed to uphold justice. We must demand reform or outright overthrow the judicial system and start new. RIP Troy
Ray Charles is my inspiration. Every time I listen to his music it gives me chills. Please check out my cover of Georgia On My Mind, I know it wont be as good as Ray, but I hope it does him justice. :)

Ray broke the white wall on music everyone liked him regaurdless of color.
Ray Charles was strong on the charts in the 60's with several songs, more then any other generation. It shows that talent continues on at any age Ray kept recording in the 70's and the 80's and got better as he got older. Ray recorded many country western songs for paramount records mostly Hank Williams Sr. songs with ray's sound. Atlantic records made Ray and Ray made Atlantic records they were the real deal.
The National Anthem Of Georgia. The double entandre of Georgia that sweet soul we know Georgia The Queen Jewel Of The South. I can't say it better than Ray. His music moves me deeply as I connect to the sweet memories of smiling loving free souls in the magnolia scent filled dreams with a song in the air.
Well i'm 14, my mum and dad grew me up on this type of music and pretty much the 70's and 80's music aswell. Its so sad that most of my generation doesn't even know of Ray Charles...
@braziliandoc08 I really love this version but I actually prefer the version that plays at the end of the movie Ray. I have searched EVERYWHERE for it but I can't find it. It's spectacular.
