I'm having trouble getting enough height off the pedals... Usually i push down on one pedal too much, and they go vertical. How can i get more heights off the pedals...?
@madman0617 For a giraffe uni you can do nearly all the same moves you can on a freestyle uni; it's just a lot harder. Some of the moves that are good to try are:
- 1 Footed riding
- Spinning
- Unispins are possible, and you don't have to worry about your feet hitting the wheel.
Still, you've got to have some bol***ks to try; good luck. And make sure your giraffe will cope, they aren't designed for hard riding...
great tutorial. i got the mounts within 2 minutes. working on just going for it. still waiting to do the 360's. wanna get 180's down. quick question, is it better to use a small unicycle then a medium sized one? i would think it would be easier with the small one because of the weight difference. if so, i will gladly buy a new unicycle, in need of a new one haha. i also ride a 5ft unicycle, still cant find any tricks for it tho :(

@mononinnin59 haha "I arrive the unispin?" je ne comprends pas. anglais mal? JUST KIDDING I'M NOT FRENCH. je ne suis pas francais, je suis americain. HAHHAAHA j'adore francais!
wtf? dont let go when spinning for a 360, keep apart of ur spinning hand on the seat at all times usually ur thumb, beta control. and keep ur spinning hand as close to the seat post as possible, easier spin and again beta control
I am trying to do 180's...failing...I start on the cranks and I am trying to land back onto the cranks. Am I doing it completely wrong, or do you think that it will still work?
do it on the pedals, makes it easier to jump over wheel, landing on cranks is ok but def dont jump off them, when landing just slam feet into frame, ur feet then just bounce to pedals or slide to cranks
heres a tip for some people ITS ALL ABOUT THE LEFT HAND! after landing on the pedals but srsly get the left and right hand movement down and your feet will jsut fall into place i fell on my ass like five time but the i started focusing on putting my right hand near the front of the seat and pushing with my left and catching with my left more and it helped soo much
Awesome! Thanks a lot! i like how you gave credit to the ground, chair, and road haha. What's the weight of your unicycle? just wondering because I have pretty hefty 24" wheel Sun unicycle, and I feel like it's too much weight to spin and stop fast enough or maybe im not doing something right?
hey i was wondering what do you think my problem is, i get sif i jump and spin the uni and everything goes well, but i can never land on the pedals or cranks, i have this natural reaction and my feet automatically flick out just to the side of the pedals, any way you think i can correct this?
It's weird, isn't it, my first 3 spin was perfectly clean, much more so than most of my 180 unispins, square on the pedals and on exactly the spot I hopped from, but then it took me many dozens of attempts to even land just one more.
BTW, I'm just turning this video on for the music now =)
You need more than pads. you need god on your side to stop those cranks rotating. I can 3 spin 3 sets but only sideways. If you want to hit it rolling you need to learn to tre.
I stopped enough at the top that it was almost equivalent to sidehopping, just facing forwards and smoother looking. Plus, it was just a 2 stair, not 3.
I should probably learn some flip tricks now, though, because I know you're right :)
whenever i do mine there are two things i do wrong, i cant jump of off the pedals high enough and the unicycle lands in front of me. how can i fix that?
Yes I guess it is. landing is landing though. If you can land them seat in its all good. Its easy to learn to catch them seat out after if you want. Landing them to seat in looks better though and is often easier than catching them seat out.
mhhh, thanks for the video ... i'm learning the 180 unispin and i can do the first "trick" where you stand on the ground but the real spin ... not really :S
i don't know why, but my feet are always next to the pedals after turning around the uni p.p
When I unispin or when I sidehop? Off the uni or with the uni? When you unispin your tyre should leave the ground, when on flat it only needs to lift of a few cms or so, up things obviously it need to go higher. When you hickflip, treyflip, sexchange, etc. your tyre probably goes higher and the bigger the spin the higher you jump to give more time to spin. Jumping in the air wilst unispinning? Experiment, people all do it slightly different, try jumping higher or lower and see how it feels.
globefilms, just make sure you aren't putting any weight on it, you can work on getting the uni up later but you don't want to be relying on it to hold you up
If your landing them, keep at it. Its best if your uni does come off the ground because its probably easier to spin it then. If it doesnt yet, it will most likeley come over time and is something you can practice.
I love this, thanks! I almost landed one after watching this!
also I use kona gloves too (not the same type)how do you like them? Mine are getting worn out and I need a new pair of unicycling (and MTBiking) gloves. I like my kona ones right now, but i never tried that type...
I never hit my balls, only once ever :S (reply to the little rant below) Anwyays, I still can't pull off unispins yet but this tutorial REALLY helped me understand the hand placements and stuff. Cheers
DUDE THANXX i ride a k1 devil and i find it just amazing but whatever iv been riding for 3 years now and im starting out rather good i now land my uni 3
well kid that said he has only hit his balls about 2 times he's been riding. dude they must be sooo small, i hit mine about 2 times every ten minutes. no lie.
Hahah your doing something badly wrong then. I asure you I dont ever rack myself and I asure you they are not small. If I hit myself in the balls all the time I wouldnt ride. Ask anyone else they will tell you the same. What are you doing???? get some cycling shorts and tuck everything up, if your still having problems your either hung like a donkey or your doing somethng badly wrong lol
Definatly the kris holm fusion street saddle. Take a look on unicycle dot com they are brilliant there. K1 sell nicer looking saddles but the KH are the best, they also have removeable covers which alows you to upgrade your seat base to a carbon fibre one which are lighter, stiffer and stronger (but quite expensive)
now im thinking about buying a whole new unicycle. the Nimbus X Street Unicycle 2007 idk if u know anything about it or if its good or not. if u do is it good or no?
What uni do you have at the moment? That uni is a very nice uni, I love that frame and the rest is all good and very strong. The only thing you should do is upgrade the cranks to the Kris Holm moment cranks, they are quite a bit more but it is definatly worth it, without a doubt. When/if you go to buy it just click on the drop down and change it to the moments. Are you wanting it for mainly street flat or trials? PM me back.
hey ive just started to do tricks on my uni, i can do 20 b/hops now well pleased :P lol but i dont know how to start riding once ive finished jumping as my feet are still on the cranks?! is there anyway around this?! like the vid by the way :D! cheers :D x
Uh no never. You land on your feet not on your balls. I have racked myself maybe twice in the whole time I have been riding, its normaly been when I pussy out and dont comit to something. I often were cycling shorts, they seem to help keep everything out the way but Its almost always fine even without.
okay thanks! i finally learned how to consistently do bunny hops yesterday.(amazing i never really tried even though i've been riding for about 6 years. lol) like i was able to do one at a time. but i can do about thirty in a row now, pretty high. all i need to do is learn how to jump forward. then i'll try the 180 spins. but thanks!!!!
You can land them seat in (SI) or seat in front (SIF) I dont normaly land straight 180s any more but if i do I normaly land the first from SI to SIF and the second from SIF to SI. When your learning them just do what ever works.
I would say 180 unispins were probably the hardest tricks for me to learn, after that 360 unispins and crankflips came pretty easy and the rest is just history. Keep at it, it is definatly worth it, the feeling when you finaly succseed is worth all the sweat, pain and blood.
At first, definatly not but as you get more comftable with it holding the seat in front (SIF) alows you to jump alot higher. Sorry if this is not what your after, I dont fully understand what your asking :S
SIF is an abreviation of "seat in front" it is were you take your seat from between your legs and out in front of you this gives you more room to move when doing trials and jumping and it alows you to do more tricks because you can hold the seat easier to spin and stuff.
If you start from SIF (seat in front) it gives you more space to spin the uni. Then when you jump up you flick your legs out which gives the wheel room to spin under you.
Very nice video, good quality, good music, and good tutorial...ive tried to do this trick w/out any kind of instruction, just watching ppl do it in vids like defect, but now ill have a better chance doing it now that i know the hand placement and all that...very nice control and overall nice unicycling, ty fr this video. just curious, do you know what level you are?
Thanks im glad you liked it. Good luck, make a video of it when you get it. Post it as a response to this vid if you want.
I dont realy know what level I am, I dont realy follow them as they dont cover street of trials but just looking at them I would say maybe level 6 but I can glide and do other stuff from higher levels.
Im making another tutorial now, should finish it soon. Its on wheel walking, one foot wheel walking and gliding.
i keep putting the uni too far forward so i can never land it. but i can almost do that think where you turn the uni 90 degrees and land with 2 feet on the tire and then turn the rest of the 180 and land on the seat
After 3 and a half hours, two gallons of water, approximately 15mls of blood (12 of which were mine), I landed a 180 unispin. Then my pedals fell off.
Landing your feet is the hard part and is just up to you going out and trying it. Just keep at it, if the uni is coming out infront of you when you land lean over it more if its going behind you stand more upright.......
......Snap your feet back in hard, you will still land it if you land on the cranks. Pad up and comit yourself, If you land it you wont get hurt.......
great video!, thankyou!

When/if you go to buy it just click on the drop down and change it to the moments. Are you wanting it for mainly street flat or trials? PM me back.

hey ive just started to do tricks on my uni, i can do 20 b/hops now well pleased :P lol but i dont know how to start riding once ive finished jumping as my feet are still on the cranks?! is there anyway around this?! like the vid by the way :D! cheers :D x

ok. do you use a cup?
zerorules13 4 years ago
Uh no never. You land on your feet not on your balls. I have racked myself maybe twice in the whole time I have been riding, its normaly been when I pussy out and dont comit to something. I often were cycling shorts, they seem to help keep everything out the way but Its almost always fine even without.
c011in9s 4 years ago
okay thanks! i finally learned how to consistently do bunny hops yesterday.(amazing i never really tried even though i've been riding for about 6 years. lol) like i was able to do one at a time. but i can do about thirty in a row now, pretty high. all i need to do is learn how to jump forward. then i'll try the 180 spins. but thanks!!!!
zerorules13 4 years ago
do i have to land it by holding the seat infront of me cos i think i find it easier landing on the seat
Krando00 4 years ago
You can land them seat in (SI) or seat in front (SIF) I dont normaly land straight 180s any more but if i do I normaly land the first from SI to SIF and the second from SIF to SI. When your learning them just do what ever works.
c011in9s 4 years ago
kk thanks, im practicing rite now but i can never land it so i get angry and chuck my unicycle =/ how long will it take, omg lol...................
Krando00 4 years ago
I would say 180 unispins were probably the hardest tricks for me to learn, after that 360 unispins and crankflips came pretty easy and the rest is just history. Keep at it, it is definatly worth it, the feeling when you finaly succseed is worth all the sweat, pain and blood.

c011in9s 4 years ago

onzamaster 4 years ago
um is it easier when you jump to hold the side of the saddle???
rockintherad 4 years ago
At first, definatly not but as you get more comftable with it holding the seat in front (SIF) alows you to jump alot higher. Sorry if this is not what your after, I dont fully understand what your asking :S
c011in9s 4 years ago
Ahaha and bif = balls in front.. The way we ride haha.

I have a question...Wut is SIF??? Nice vid by the way
UnicyclistB 4 years ago
SIF is an abreviation of "seat in front" it is were you take your seat from between your legs and out in front of you this gives you more room to move when doing trials and jumping and it alows you to do more tricks because you can hold the seat easier to spin and stuff.
c011in9s 4 years ago
Thank u so much, I have to go give it a shot

Thanks, hope it helped.
c011in9s 4 years ago
Cool! I Just don't understand how you get room to spin the uni :P
benzimon 4 years ago
If you start from SIF (seat in front) it gives you more space to spin the uni. Then when you jump up you flick your legs out which gives the wheel room to spin under you.

Very nice video, good quality, good music, and good tutorial...ive tried to do this trick w/out any kind of instruction, just watching ppl do it in vids like defect, but now ill have a better chance doing it now that i know the hand placement and all that...very nice control and overall nice unicycling, ty fr this video. just curious, do you know what level you are?
chief249 4 years ago
Thanks im glad you liked it. Good luck, make a video of it when you get it. Post it as a response to this vid if you want.
I dont realy know what level I am, I dont realy follow them as they dont cover street of trials but just looking at them I would say maybe level 6 but I can glide and do other stuff from higher levels.
Im making another tutorial now, should finish it soon. Its on wheel walking, one foot wheel walking and gliding.
c011in9s 4 years ago
i keep putting the uni too far forward so i can never land it. but i can almost do that think where you turn the uni 90 degrees and land with 2 feet on the tire and then turn the rest of the 180 and land on the seat
inmyfacehaha 4 years ago
After 3 and a half hours, two gallons of water, approximately 15mls of blood (12 of which were mine), I landed a 180 unispin. Then my pedals fell off.

Thanks for the tutorial, i can almost do it, but i can never land my feet on the pedals...
Nkahler 4 years ago
Landing your feet is the hard part and is just up to you going out and trying it. Just keep at it, if the uni is coming out infront of you when you land lean over it more if its going behind you stand more upright.......
c011in9s 4 years ago
......Snap your feet back in hard, you will still land it if you land on the cranks. Pad up and comit yourself, If you land it you wont get hurt.......
c011in9s 4 years ago
.......If you go at it half hearted you are more likley to hurt yourself. good luck, hope you get it soon, I would like to see a vid when you get it.
