  • gran tema de esta que fue la mejor decada para mi!! 80´s 4ever

  • I've loved Talk Talk since the 80s!!! This is music, not some of the crap that's out today!

  • Hollis quit music as it conflicted with being a father. The music helped me through my troubled youth, and more respect now as I look at my 3 sons and admire his attitude. Although I'd LOVE a revival tour ....

  • One of the greatest band to ever walk this earth.

  • I wasn´t there...I commit suicide!

  • Anymore of this Hammersmith Odeon footage anywhere?

  • hollis you are magic!and talk talk too!

  • Excellent! Their music is a mixture of strange sounds mysterious and wonderful at the same time!

  • unforgettable voice........

  • I hope they coming back.....love it sooo much!

  • I saw them in Leeds on the same tour - awsome. Such a cool antihero - lets the music do the talking. No bullshit

  • was there to, fantastic night!!!!

  • awsome

  • brill

  • me to...:)

  • Me tooooooooooo, I was there - f'n awesome gig - one of my top 10 gigs of all time!

  • Is there a sexier song in the whole world? I don't want to know if there is really. LOVE IT

  • this song is very very beautifull, still after all these years !!! ( no further comment ...)

  • historic milestone

  • Are they still touring?

  • que genios, que grandes, que temazo!!!

  • yes you were lucky great band!!!

  • Great

  • Amazing.

  • Anyone know if this concert is available on dvd?

  • @seamus1967 go on ebay type in talk talk hammersmith odeon 1986 the dvd is on there for £8.99

  • love this song love the group love the 80s wish i was back there TALK TALK will always be the best band ever !

  • I'm ashamed to say I did not discover this band 'til 2011 but wow better late than never!

  • @sg72646 if you haven't heard them,listen to their last 3 albums...colour of spring...eden...laughing stock....

    tommy

  • @tkshots

26 YEARS LATER AND I STILL PLAY...THE COLOUR OF SPRING, IT'S 1 OF THE GREATEST ALBUMS EVER.

which is best from the other 2 you mention ?? maybe i'll buy 1

    thnx dave,

  • @theBESTelvis for me,it's laughing stock...both very diferent to colour of spring, but both brilliant...

  • @tkshots

Thnx for that, i'll buy it on cd now. wish they'd reform for a tour, any idea what Hollis and guys are up to these days ?

    cheers dave

  • @theBESTelvis mark hollis made a solo album some years after laughing stock...on similar lines but not as good i thought...nothing since...that's over a decade ago...the albums were the antithesis of commercial so he might have been driven out of the business...he might have left because it is a business and such a disgusting business...or he might have thought he said everything he had to say...we can only guess...

  • One of the BEST!!!!

  • Great song and video. 14 people gotta give it up! :)

  • Wunderbare Musik - Talk Talk gehört zum Besten, was man hören kann!!!

  • god dam.. this is what you call live music... just wish I had been more into these when I was younger then might have been privileged to have attended this gig. FUCK, Hollis's voice... WOW

  • Colour of spring es uno de los mejores discos de 1986 y creo q d toda la decada del '80! Hollis es un monstruo, Harris y Webb son 2 musicazos!!! y Give it up es una de las mas grandes canciones del rock!!!

  • As a music lover of over 40 yrs I have learnt there is great music in every genre but music that doesn't date marks the artists as brilliant and this band is one of them

  • @FlashMotorGuy007

I so made it up that i went to Duxford three months later for a repeat performance.

  • Aw man, five years before I was born... where's a TARDIS when you need one, eh?

  • Imagine what it must feel like to sing like that!

    (I have goose bumps)

  • Beautiful

  • @hmsmagpie very! Wish I was there.... not much chance that they ever reunite I guess

  • shame focusing the bass on the guitar solos

  • Comment removed

  • I was there!

    How lucky am i?

  • @hmsmagpie I would have kidnapped Hollis if I was you.

  • @hmsmagpie How could you let him go???

  • @hmsmagpie Very! : )

  • Fantastic! Is it worth that much when you'r tears stop.Enough there ain't enough hidden hurt.

  • King!!!

  • I adore this singer for decades, but he seems to have lost connections to the world, didnt he? he is a kind of mysterium where has he gone? can anyone tell me what went wrong with him?

  • The singer has a few solo album's . They are slower and moodfull. It would be cool to see him in an interview, maybe play a lil its cool to see someone get into it's songs

  • The singer has a few solo album's . They are slower and moodfull. It would be cool to see him in an interview, maybe play a lil

  • I was at this gig, amazing, such an under rated band, this track is one of my favorites, bags of energy in it, wish they would reform !!!!!!

  • I have this on a cassette tape recorded off the radio at the time.

If anybody with technical expertise wants to get in touch, i'd be only too glad to share it with the rest of you.

  • Music is a time machine for the aged and elderly.

  • Mark Hollis...The dogs bollox..

  • Under rated yes but I always thought TT only wanted to be appreciated by those who really understood that pandering to the masses was a betrayal of what they stood for

This is a great track as so many of theirs were

  • that organ is the best

  • fan-fuckin-tastic

  • Still sounds as good as when I first heard it. The sound has not aged, and the theme remains intelligent. Thanks for posting.

  • fantastic song

  • even after all this time ,,the tracks he does are amazing ,,very few stand the test of time like mark hollis has ,,

  • I think he has those glasses sutured to his head. :)

  • Another great song by Talk Talk; full of energy.

    Thanks for the living memories.

They are still alive in all of us.

  • To see this band fake it on the "shows" makes this a classic

  • @timeeagle77 Que??

  • Spot on performance!

  • @KNagaine93 I use that expression in the US and people look at me as though I'm purple!

  • unique, talented, come back please Mark- u are denying the world ur talent.. its not fair

  • Let's give it up for Mark Hollis!!!! A true artist.

  • As good if not better than the studio version!

  • nothing is better. mot

  • Saw them here and at Duxford.

    Mesmerising performances!

  • mark please please please come back!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

  • @ mark;

    hej assho*l !!!

u make the best band for me and 100.000 people and quit?

come back for one tourne and go (if u want)

  • this video is of amazing and of high quality. i liked it

  • Hollis is so cool for not giving into the mainstream and all the more; saying fuck you to fame.

  • @illicitstill

so true,,, it must be so easy to 'sell out'... but this music stands the test of time. thanks to the internet... this LIVES ON !! :)

  • @illicitstill

Its in his nature, he was very shy ...and modest.

  • outstanding

  • inarrivabili

  • ...and I LOVE the fact it's a Steinberger GL!!!!!! :D

  • 13 peeps have no taste

  • Great 80s-Talk Talk forever!!!

  • Just revisiting my Talk Talk tunes, this is brilliant, great memories.

  • Stains of sounds... it's pretty minimalistic... the rest is imagination. Good job guys

  • ...Praticamente inventarono il post-rock. E tanto basta...

  • Fantastic!!!!!!

  • oh boy...

  • simply awesome...........a concert i'd love to re live

  • awesome 80s

  • We will be lucky to see the talent this band had again. With Weezer and Gwen stef doing covers lets hope a new generation of fans will find out what true talent is all about and search out the original and sublime artistry that is forever Talk Talk.

  • One of the most talented of the last 30 years.

  • A Primo band in their prime! Magnifico!

  • Damn! :)

  • Grandi!

  • stupenda mitici talk talk

  • what an amazing voice

  • absolutely love this band, what an amazing voice he has

  • great performance!! perfection.

  • Pink Floyd of the 80s. Not only because of the hammond organ. Great songs, great lyrics.

  • мощно. несказанно мощно. даже эпически мощно!

  • I love this band...

  • My opinion is, that Talk Talk was on peak on what I call "music" with Color of Spring.....the album was handmade....Hammond B3, Accoustic guitars, real drums, strings, percussion, etc.....but still songs not too complex and not too simple E-Music like their starting career. The following "Spirit of eden" was half the way into insanity, but still the deep character of those kind of music...

  • @unlikeanyotherhuman My feeling is he just wanted to live a normal life. I read someone's comment he got married, and had a family so I wouldn't necessarily say he became reclusive, no more than you or me I guess—just not in the public eye any more. Yeah, it is a shame for us music lovers but I'm guessing he is happy whatever he is doing now.

  • Come back now

  • such a great band. please come back!

  • Right on I love this group and song !!! I went mountain biking for a week in Crested Butte when this song was released, and listened to it endlessly the entire trip! Drinking at the end of each day at the Red Lady brewery and loving this group and track!!! Old school with no suspension!!!! Great memories!

  • Flawless........

  • Flawless....

  • Flawless....

  • Saw a 3 in 1 koncert in copenhagen in the late 80's, first and on the same scene New Order after Talk Talk then Depeche Mode, incredible evening!! Talk Talk was far the better liveband. Have got all of their stuff on the i-pod and so many years after it just keep growing on me!! Truly a great band!!

  • Sounds like FREE,Bad Co. era ...... love his music I wish he didn't give it up

  • Thanks for posting.

  • Great and super original voice of Mark Hollis 5*****

  • i am 28 years old now. of course i as the others are the children of 80s.. but something shocking me until today is i juz looove this song with juz once played then juz favourited it. dammit

  • Brilliant, Ii've heard this song probably 100's of times and it still blows me away. "Colour Of Spring" one of the best albums ever!

  • @Santifica absolutely correct. One of the best albums of all time and thanks to the guy who found the footage.

  • THIS band is MASSIVE... in it's range of material and moods and the execution of each song is so... beautifully artistic.

UNDERrated to be sure... but that is almost a testament to their depth and musisicianship. This particular cut reminds me of Steve WInwood and Traffic.

YEAH... and like all excellent musicians, they sound at least as good live as recorded.

CHeers to a great group... and a sound thay will never be duplicated.

  • Song writing was never easy...and then you have to listen to this to realise that is almost imposible if you´re not touched by angels.......

  • AMAZING SONG,

THIS IS WHAT I CALL...REAL MUSIC,

    UNLIKE TODAYS MANUFACTURED SHITE.

  • The Colour of Spring is one of the best albums of all time!

  • @raithrover1976

FUCKIN RIGHT YEE, ABSOLUTE ...CLASSIC MASTERPIECE,

  • Mark and the band, we love you!

  • WOW! GREAT!

  • There is still no one who sounds like Mark Hollis-brilliant, totally underrated and a hell of a lot of soul too.

  • @fetishalchemy

its funny you should say that, i live in folkestone (u.k.(just in case you're not)), we have a pretty good live music scene and theres this college aged kid who performs at open mic nights that sounds just like him, i mean eeriely like him. makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up

  • @dogstar75 Load some clips of this lad!!

  • pfff, I think I leave the past reactions for what they are...

after a long time, I finally heard/saw this song again.

    and how great it is!!!

this typical, nasal voice with passion, the band....

    I love it!!!

  • what's the matter multimagoon. you are such a nowbody even Youtube wont publish you HAHAHAHAHA

  • This guy is smokingly so brilliant!!!

  • genius, unique, love the hammond sound. The thing about Talk Talk is the way there music moves you. Very special.

  • Comment removed

  • The power in this! Wow!

  • magnifico

  • What a voice. Utterly unique - totally spellbinding. Sorrowful, intelligent and bringing back such great memories of 25 years ago

  • great great great

  • my point is you have no clue and you never did @MultiMagoon . You smell of an inferiority complex, I have been in a band for years the same as 90% of the population so keep your fake knowlege for own stroking. You are a nobody surfing youtube and you will never be anyone. give it up

  • best voice ever

  • where are u now mr. hollis..thank u and the lads for a great backdrop to my growing up..some of the greatest songs ever made xxx

  • Saw them live around 1985 at Ipswich Regent, a very intense band live, great songs and left a very lasting impression. I've seen a lot of bands since, and not many have been as good as this lot. mark.

  • Ome of the best bands I ever saw, I miss them

  • @utubefreak- u would be surprised how many pick the name utubefreak - 7776 in fact

  • @MultiMagoon you mean to tell me that i am not as clever as i thought i was?

  • What the F... are the lyrics?

  • first of all you were not there when Talk Talk was together creating the song. None of you know which band members created what. Have none of you ever been in a start to finish session when creating a song and optimizing it? You would be suprized at the additions and suggestions each member contributes to the others music role in a specific song.

  • @utubefreak7777 - i know who did what in the studio(s) for this entire album... and many of them weren't even in the band. what's your point?

  • sounds great live - most sing like shit out of studio

  • Many of today's bands sound like crap when they perform live. Some use play back fill. Hollis left his throat in every song. One of the best bands ever.

  • Life's what you make it - don't back date it

Not sure Mark would be up for a reunion.

  • its about time mark hollis/talk talk were in the music hall of fame.

  • Gawdddddddddddddd Mark is soooo GORGEOUS!!!! I wish they'd get back together and perform for those of us who didn't get to see them in their heyday. *sigh*

  • yeah, but he wouldn't want to do the 20 yr old stuff. He's moved on and it would be questionable, just like Mc Cartney doing Beatles suff and not getting his stuff out

  • It must be weird to see yourself 20 years ago and hear people call you forward to do it again, like you haven't changed in 20 yeas

  • Why? I bet he still has a great voice, no matter his age. We all get older, but most of us just don't have a voice like his:)

  • A great band! (my cousin have many materials of this band in your travels, and in this time in Argentina are no permission heard music in english for the war of Malvinas). Great Band!

  • I'm straight as they come, but for about ten minutes or so in 1980-something, I kinda had a man crush on Talk Talk's drummer.

Having said that, TALK TALK is a band that evolved in such a masterful way and my ears really miss them. I'll always have the old records, but c'mon, Mark! Throw your fans a scrap of new music. Would it kill ya??

  • @KoenHead yeah,just a scrap would do

  • gotta have more organ...

  • I love this group and this track whoo hoo xx
