  • My friend, I can't be the only one who has been annoyed by the skips on this...love the sound of vinyl, but skips are not tolerable! Do you remember how to tape a quarter to the top of the record arm to weight it down??

  • @BigJH37 If this is your mom's record, the quarter trick and records in general might be past your time, sorry if I was short there. Try a quarter taped to the top of the arm over the needle. If it still skips keep adding quarters...then when you get it clean, re-record so we have a good non-skip copy. Good luck!

  • the strokes new gratisfaction sounds just like this

You're actually right on the money. That was his inital inspiration when writing this song.

  • I first heard this song watching the Adventureland movie. When Ryan Reynolds character put this song on the record player it hit me like a ton of bricks.

  • My brother was desrcibing this to me , apparently its in the new movie "Adventureland." He said its a great soundtrack and our step father used to play several of the tracks off it back in the 80's including this. I vaguely recollect it. cool song.

  • It also appears on the "Rock'n'Roll Highschool" soundtrack alongside the RAMONES and other good stuff...uh, just FYI.

  • Looking for the song'LOVER DONT GO BY NICK LOWE..butcant find it..wish someone woule post it!!

  • I think I love your Mom. She must have rocked!

  • Haha she still does lol

  • Your mom is cool!! I loved this song back in the day, still do.

  • Ah yes ! good old scratchy vinyl !!!

  • @johnnymoondog Vinyl, even old, certainly need not be scratchy. That is due to mishandling, mediocre and mistracking cartridges, etc.
