I'm playing Caliban in The Tempest next week. I'm trying my best to get a feel for the character.

Oh Caliban, you will always be my favourite character of Shakespeare, you and Nick Bottom from Midsummer.

Prospero is a damn terrifying bloke! When I was first told about this our teacher made the characters very black/white in their morals. It wasn't until I read the play I started thinking of different interpretations of character (e.g. Caliban, being isolated from people, has no concept of restraint or human morals, Ariel serves Prospero out of fear as well as loyalty etc).
