  • thank you for posting this video. it was very useful and informative. i recently started storing supplies, although i am on an extremely limited budget, and this helped a lot. thank you, and please keep posting

  • Here's another tip: buy ready to eat dry foods. There are online shops who sell these and they have many advantages over the other foods. Some stores sell food for a whole year although this can be expensive.

Also keep some junkfood, as this is good for keeping up morale when a disaster of some kind happens.

  • @TWSceptic Junkfood is poison to the brain. It isn't going to help anyone's moral. I think if you would change that to "fun food" instead of "junkfood" then I could agree with you. There are many fun foods that are healthy, like dried fruit, or even beverages like tea or coffee, depending on what rocks your boat. Kids will do much better with something like freeze dried grapes, blueberries, etc. - healthy AND fun. If you are going to store food store healthy food, as much as possible.

  • @thenewsurvivalist I'm not saying you should have a big junk food storage, but some cookies, chocolate, soda is just nice to have. Believe me, I've done survival in the wild and a little bit of that can really boost morale. But you make a good point, and of course I'm not saying people should not eat healthy in general, they really should. But thanks for the comment.

  • You give some great advice. Buy what you like and rotate. Great safety advice on the bulging cans.

Don't have the money to prchase cases at a time then don't. Every trip to the store buy one or to extra cans hopefully an item on sale. Soon you have several cases built up.

  • canned food is useless it is some of the worst unhealthy way to eat. Just take care of your stuff and don't drop your glass jars. I personally don't want to live of food that is full of metal. Cans have seepage and the process ruins your food.

  • really good video - thanks-

  • FIFO: First In, First Out.

  • I like what you’re doing, but long term can use in an none emergency will expose you to Bisphenol A which is found in the can liner. Bisphenol A when exposed to heat becomes even more unstable. So any can food you eat, you should be aware that you are getting unhealthy dose’s of a chemical that was first developed as a synthetic estrogen. Be cautious of your exposure. And of course in an emergency, I’d eat can food.

  • @romney27 Yeah in emergency but I'm not going to plan with cans if all there is is can ok but almost anything else is better than canned food

  • Read the book: Energy World War 3 and the true man made apocalypse, now at amazon.. the book was prohibit in Europe since many years.

  • Food storage is also a very good thing to do when you are making money. If you lose your job or your career falls through and your money runs short... Well, if you've started storing food, then the food bill won't be a bother for quite some time. Hopefully long enough for a person to get back "on their feet". Self-sufficiency seems to be the ruling theme behind all of these videos. Cutting out such heavy Govt. "need" would help get the USA back to what it should be. Good job, Doc.

  • you mean your underground grocery store?

  • Don't forget to stock up on a few can openers, easp if the majority of your food is in cans! I have started buying food on offer etc! The longest date I can get is dec 2014! I only pop a few pounds worth of food etc Into my trolley!

  • I love his beard :o !

  • What's the contingency plan if your hidey hole is over run by ex military renegades with tactical training, your guard dogs silently killed and any items that can be taken are took? I'm no hater, I'm just saying.

  • What happens when some food spoils? do u do like 6 weeks check up on food ?

  • Great vidio. Your points are all thoght out logically. Thanx

  • you should ask me about freezedried THRIVE foods. i use them and its the best. happy to tell you all about it.

  • very smart to write the use by date on the front label... I never thought of that... great idea!

  • ok im learning, but what do u do after 6 weeks when all the cans are empty?????

    .

  • @4panta I don't understand the 6 weeks thing. Please clarify your question or be more specific.

  • @4panta buy a gun for hunting, buy seeds for planting, buy silver for barter and stock up for a year worth of food.

  • @GerrettJihad Thanks man buying seeds is a good idea. they are very cheap.

OK now on my list: Some hunting/fishing books, seeds, and moving into a warmer climate when the shtf. cold winter=not good.

This guy survived 300 days on an island easily:

    /watch?v=-m3eqABgGsY

    fresh water, fish, mangos, coconuts...

  • Comment removed

  • @4panta I'm not quite sure where you got 6 weeks from. I would guess that all the food in view would last at least 6 months for one person. See the white 5 gallon buckets in the back? Those are probably full of either beans or rice. Just those four buckets would add months and months to his food supply. This is the first video that I've seen of this man but I would guess that he also has a lot more that we can't see.

  • @4panta

Troll much?, You can not store an indefinite amount of food. Does this mean you should store nothing?

So if a natural disaster were to strike your area, like Katrina or something similar, having some sort of long term food storage in your house would not be useful?

I suppose the government is going to take care of you? Just look at how they took care of the victims of Katrina.

    Grow up.

  • @coynedogg no im not trolling. im learning how to grow salat fast, how to trap a squirrel fast, or fishing skills. i also need 2 store food, as u suggest, but i dont think it is a skill to store food..... all i can see on yt is "PREPPERS: how 2 store food in your house"

so stay cool, im just focusing on the food u get from nature FIRST.

  • @4panta

Use a natural disaster or economic collapse as an example. Imagine your city, state, or the entire country being in chaos. There will be dangerous roving bands of looters.

You believe you will be able to go outside and safely squirrel hunt? What if the areas disaster has effected wild life? (like Katrina) Then what?

How long will you survive without clean drinking water?

If you are serious about surving, focus on the things you can control first.

  • @coynedogg you are right there is a lot 2 calculate.well my first thought was, the safest place would be on an island or near a coast far away from people! in case of an economic collapse,no food no electricity, it will not be safe being at home and eat your preppers food.

My 2nd thought was,the Native Indians & the Amazon Indians will be laughing their asses off. They even get 100% of their medicine from plants. OK i need 2 buy some books. and F*ck Bear Grylls,I will NEVER DRINK MY PISS :D

  • @4panta

While storing canned goods might not seem like a skill to you it requires forethought, preparation, and discipline. Without those qualities you wlll not have the proper nutrition, the amount of food, and you will waste resources. There is the skill you speak of.

Not to mention those who can, jar, pickle, salt, etc their own foods. Skill is definitely involved there.

You get lucky and shoot several deer at once. How will you store the meat w/ no refrigeration?

  • @coynedogg

A deer is very easy to field dress and quarter with a sharp hunting knife and a small saw. It may not be butcher quality, but most anyone gots sense enough to cut the guts out a deer and cut the meat off the bone. If you can get that far, you most certainly can cut it into small strips, soak it in salt and whatever spice you got on hand, and dry it in the sun. Rainy? Rub the carcass down in salt and hang it in the driest location and smoke it.

  • @SuburbanoidMisfit111

'A deer is very easy to field dress and quarter with a sharp hunting knife and a small saw....'

That's great. So you have read my posts and this is a response arguing deer hunting as a viable means of survival during a natural disaster?

Fuck prepping right? I'll make sure you get a good burial.

  • @coynedogg

Dude, I was just saying, you acted like the shit was hard. It's not. Now, moving on...I don't 'get' the folks who get off (like you obviously) on this epic doom porn scenario. "I'm sure you'll get a good burial" WTF is that all about? I mean, seriously? There is no magic ruler that says who will survive a catastrophe. I'm all for being reasonably ready but get real, if something happens that disrupts infrastructure indefinitely... hope you got more than beans and guns.

  • @coynedogg

I know I'm not in the minority here, we have several military and former military here, I'm thinking back to stuff I witnessed in war situations. Plenty of homes we cleared had stores and stores of food and water, but once those bombs started falling, these people had no choice but to flee and leave their crap behind. You can claim to be the most billy bad ass with an SK, AR and M4 mod but if a cat 5 hurricane, nuke, napalm etc comes to your immediate vicinity, you flee.

  • @SuburbanoidMisfit111 : You mentioned here, you're former military, therefore you should teach the people to depart from the cities at least one week before the chaos arrive your areas. Cities are just a giant prison, and Change your cars as fast as possible for a van regardless what type, drive to center of the USA as close to the canada borders as possible.. your chances will increase by about 65%, buy only dry food and salt tablets to purify water, buy a M16 or M203 ok

  • @toogigray

The honest truth is, if something happens that changes life as we know it (no more supermarket, no more FartBook, no more social regulation in place, etc) the vast majority of people are going to freak out and stay close to home unless situation dictates otherwise. Fearful people either seek to flee or hide in familiar environments (their home for ex.) Not many will have the wits to raid supermarkets before it gets desperate, at least there you fight amongst the worthy.

  • @4panta This is not going to last forever. This whole food storage thing is for more natural events. Fire earthshaking and things like that. The main problem is people depend on government to feed them when something happens. He is showing you how to be prepared to help your self.

  • bet all those foods are spoiled now

  • @juki0h Wrong. They are not even beyond the best when used by date. Hear about rotation? If not, watch the video.

  • @thenewsurvivalist oh i c, i watched the video. the only problem for me is that i dont eat canned foods, because its unhealthy, would only eat it in emergency situations

  • @juki0h Canned food can easily last 10-20 years if stored properly.

  • Ever noticed how "survivalists" are always prepared for the coming epic beard shortage?

  • @bladder1010 That is true..LMAO

  • Did Larry Potterfields do a voice over on this video, LOL. Great info. Thanks.

  • it might be smart to buy a few hand held can openers. I put a few aside for others that may not have one.

  • It was from you that I first heard about the use of brown lunch sized bags for protecting my garlic in the plastic container. Next time I will keep my garlic out of the kitchen. I guess the heat is contributiing to the aging. Note, I do not cook in the kitchen, but there is alot of summer light and heat that comes in. Our home is not insulated well.

  • You are a great teacher Doc. Thanks. I am not canning yet, and may not get to learning out. In the meanwhile, I take advantage of the longterm packaged 5 &6 gal buckets of food. Examples of what I use and rotate from the super pails include: non-fat milk, oat meal. Other items I hope to add soon include: germade (cream of wheat), veggies.

    Thanks.

  • According to the government, having more than 7 days worth of food makes you a suspected terrorist.

  • fucking dumb yanks

  • One thing I never here any of these people say to do if at all possible. Drill a well and keep the pipe 5' below ground with nothing of it above ground that can be seen and pipe it into your shelter with an old fashion hand pump. You will never store enough water and it will taste like plastic till it's gone and if you have 3 or 4 kids your talking 1,000's of gallons stored in your shelter. How many 55 gallon drums can you fit in yours? I'm just saying.

  • fuck man you have a bunker im jealous , i just bought a car and i already regret it.. im gonna buy a motor cycle so that if SHTF i can just ride out in a bike and cut threw traffic while cars are pilled up and im gonna make my basement as stocked up as what i can see in your room, hopefully i can get it done before the summer or before its too late things are moving very fast

  • I like your video, enjoyed watching it. However, i would not use freeze dried food they add chemicals to itduring the freeze dry process. I started storing up low heat dehydrated foods gauranteed to retain 92% of nutrition up to 25 years. Thanks for the great info. check my channel for the link.

  • check the expiration date on everything, and place it front or back accordingly. At Grocery Outlet nearest to where I live, for instance, the expiration dates are usually sooner than the ones at

FoodsCo or Dollar Tree where I also shop.

  • I'm doing the same thing. I'm also looking into buying land away from the city(hour or so drive) and building a cabin with a stockpile. It may never happen, but it's better to be prepared. Great beard by the way

  • @Jai666666666 Go to shelfreliance com/abetterway and sign up for the Q

  • Since I live in a mobile home I have very limited storage. My solution to this is that my major storage of food will be in sealed and lined (maybe black plastic) plywood boxes on rollers under the home. Since I live in Oregon moisture and rodents could be a problem. If you or anyone else has a better solution I'd like to hear it. Thank you for a informative Video, Respectfully EMF

  • paranoid americans

  • @mordeebjondalar25000 So if you live near a nuclear powerplant or in an area that is disaster prone. It's paranoid to prepare for very real screnaios? Oh you must have the view point that people like this man are preparing for a zombie apocolypse or something.

Nah, you react this way because you're insecure deep down and it bothers you because when you see someone thinking and planning for the future, it gets to you because you never bother to. Or what is it?

  • These nuts cases keep costco in business.

  • WHAT GOOD WILL IT DO WHEN THEY USE NUTRON BOMBS ON US. I KNOW YOUR INFO IS GOOD BUT ONLY IF WE ARE ALIVE

  • remember salt, it is extremely important and can be used as iodine.

  • i love this guy's beard!

  • I would say you have to be one of the best video's on this you tube I have ever seen, lots of information that is very useful, and your rabbit video is nothing short of pure genius at work.

  • Great educational video. I don't understand how someone would dislike this video?

  • @brothersickly salt and BPA

  • great vid man. love your videos, keep up the good work

  • Great vid. I had fried a canned of spam that I had failed to rotate, it was 3 years past the expiration date. It wasn't discolored or swollen, but tasted pretty good. I noticed canned tomatoes are dark & taste like the can if a year past expiration date. Mahalo for the info.

  • Comment removed

  • @pondsj01 Wrong! Ask Cody if s/he has ever eaten any canned foods 10 years past the best when used by date. Apparently the answer is no. I have! The food loses is color, flavor AND vitamins. (Strawberries were black and tasteless.) I recommend you try to use your canned foods within about 2 years after the best when used by date. You can push it longer, if you have too, but your nutrition and enjoyment will begin suffering at about that time. It will however sustain life in an emergency. Rotate!

  • dude you are so badass. thank you. you are the reason alot of people will survive

    in 2012

  • So what do you recommend that I stock up first, as far as canned foods go? I can see tomatoes or perhaps peaches or other fruit for the added water content, but what else?

  • @hunterkiller232134 Stock up on the foods that you are already using. Buy the foods you like. Think for yourself.

  • @hunterkiller232134 Baked beans are good, lots of protein. Also macaroni, pasta, spaghettei, soup, mushrooms, peas, carrots. And you can get the shops own brands cheaper than main brand such as Heinz etc. Stock up, it's coming.

  • @hunterkiller232134 -- I think a good choice is canned fruit. You can eat it out of the can, it has great nutrients, and it has fruit juice or water for hydration. Peanut butter is a good source of protein. Canned beans are also good for protein. Canned soups that do not need water added are easy and good for nutrients. You can heat a can of soup with a candle, because most people prefer warm soup. Soups can have vegetables, meat, and noodles to give good nutrients.

  • Hey oldman were have you been

  • canned food isn't bad to have and easy to obtain for the average person. however, real long term sustenance requires you get large quantities of bulk foods stored in 5-25 year containers. i prefer the 5 gallon pails of milk powder, sugar, beans, rice, oats, etc, and the #10 cans of supplements, like freeze dried veggies and meats, egg powder, butter powder, drink mixes, spices & herbs, these are the kind of foods you want to store for longer terms and better health.

  • @Evolutionary777 I store all kinds of foods including dried foods and a LOT of freeze dried foods from the source whose ad appears at the bottom of the screen in this video. This video is to motivate and to help new people get started. Buying a few extra cans every time you get to the grocery store is an excellent and inexpensive way to get started in food storage.

  • @Evolutionary777 Apart from canned foods having significantly more BPA then cheap plastic bottles :/

  • Just stop voting for bible thumping neonazi conservatives and you don't have to be afraid of fallout. Easier than building bomb shelters.

  • @baldurus1 Are you that blind? The left/right paradigm is fake, to fool Americans into thinking that we have to choose between only two alternatives when both are controlled by the same globalists puppet masters. There is no real difference between the right & the left. Obama should have made that clear to even the most obtuse - Mr. Peace Prize winner who has expanded Bush's wars into 5 countries. He is only a puppet. They will trash him and replace him with another puppet & continue the agenda.

  • @thenewsurvivalist I agree that Obama has been far to conservative on many issues, but if you strictly look at history and the agendas. It's really only one party which likes to go around starting wars. And what scares me the most is their religious zeal to make sure the "rapture" will take place in their lifetime.

What better way to destroy the world in the name of their god than a nuclear war. You will not find to many religious nuts on the left.

  • @baldurus1 I don't agree that Obama has been conservative. He has been the most liberal president we've had in decades. But that's not the point. The point is the left/right conservative/liberal agenda is fake. The globalists central bankers control both the left & the right. Obama is no different than Bush, because he is a puppet just like Bush. The proof is that he has not undone a single thing that Bush did, but instead has furthered every agenda that Bush pushed, including wars. Puppets!

  • @baldurus1 Obama conservative LOL that has to be the most ignorant statement if yet to hear! Obama is a hard core socialist, who weather it be through ignorance or malevolence is systematically destroying the american economy!

  • @ABGAN100 The American economy was destroyed in 2007, Obama wasn't president at that time.

And the only socialist president in recent history has been Bush who gave 14 trillion$ as welfare to failing companies who took the money and paid themselves huge bonuses.

    Check your facts.

  • @baldurus1 the democrats controlled both houses of congress in 2006 bush did not give 14 trillion to failing company's bush in his 8 years increased the debt by 4 trillion Obama increased the debt by 4 trillion in his first 2 years check your facts! when Obama took office the national debt was 10.6trillion today its 14.9trillion when bush took office the national debt was 6 trillion according to the Us Treasury. instead of trusting in the liberal propaganda do some research.

  • @ABGAN100 The 4 trillions by Obama was a direct result of Bushes policies, tax cuts to corporations and the richest, 2 wars congress had nothing to do with this, unemployment skyrocketed from 4,6% in 2000 to 9,8% in 2008 resulting in a 200 billion$ deficit/year, plus all spending from 2010-now are the doing of the republicans who have the house(the house is in charge of spending), and yes Bush signed the 14 trillion$ relief for "big business" causing thousands of small business to go bankrupt.

  • @baldurus1 Obama has continued & expanded all that Bush did even expanding the wars unconstitutionally. Face it, they are both puppets of the same puppet masters. Until you can grasp this fact-that there is no difference between the left & the right, because they are both controlled by the same elite bankers, you will not understand anything that is happening in the world today. The fake Left/Right dichotomy IS TO DIVIDE AND CONQUER THE PEOPLE. We are all in this together. The enemy is the Fed.

  • @baldurus1 blaming bush for debt accumulated by Obama Are you for real? what about the trillion dollar stimulus that created no stimulus or the bank bailout by Obama and a democrat controlled congress or the fact that Obama has continued the wars started by bush and started two wars of his own. or the bail outs of the car company's unemployment was 7.6% when Obama took office, and where are you getting this 14 trilling relief for big business? what liberal fantasy site gave you that info!

  • @ABGAN100 The bank bailout was in 2007 by republican Henry Paulson(Secretary of the Treasury) apointed by Bush, again Obama wasn't in charge in 2007 when the bailout was signed.

The 14 trillion comes from the Bush tax cuts 3% income 5% capital gains=~14 trillion/year tax revenue.

  • @baldurus1 the democrats were in charge of both houses 2006-2010 the democrats passed the bail out that bush signed Obama then continued to bail out the bank after his election. term action lending 2009 600 billion bail out, etc etc, 2009 10.5 trillion promised 2.5 trillion spent which has grown to now over 4 trillion in 2011, the idea that the bush tax cuts cost 14 trillion is moronic. increasing taxes would not have generated 14 trillion it would have driven unemployment up even higher

  • @thenewsurvivalist if and or when the apocalypse happens, all political leanings or preferences are totally irrelevant. The 2 things that one needs are as follows.....

    1) All manner of weapons- Guns, with lots of ammo, big knives and explosives etc.

    2) Practical skills. (basic understanding of plumbing, building, mechanics, electrics and logistics.)

The willingness to use these tools with extreme prejudice and without conscience will ensure anyones survival in a worse case scenario.....

  • @thenewsurvivalist "The demarcation of the political world into the Right Wing and the Left Wing is no longer relevant after the end of the Cold War. Nowadays, everyone in every aspect of his or her everyday life is either in favour or against Globalization." --Popular Orthodox Rally (a political party in Greece)

  • @baldurus1 unfortunately one vote isnt going to make a difference. But if you wait for the shit to hit the fan, then you can enforce your own agenda, you cant loose...

See me reply to the uploader for more details.

  • NOt Even Jesus will can save our asses

  • anyone form nottingham- uk .. inbox me !

  • You rock dude!

  • Great video! The US dollar will collapse within the next 12 months, CHRISTMAS 2012.

    CASH WILL BE TRASH!

    PREPARE THEN, BRACE FOR IMPACT!

  • cheapest, most effective pocket water filter is the LifeStraw, its $20 in North America.

  • Holy MCNUGGETS I wish I had a bunker like yours :(

  • Plastic is a bad material for long term storage. Unlike glass it allows gases to penetrate over time which can oxidize the food greatly speeding up the spoilage. If possible get as much as you can in glass or metal containers.

  • This might be naive but what are you preparing for?? Is this for natural disasters or for nuclear attacks or something??

  • @ImDaveCrazy For anything. Personally I'm concerned about hyperinflation, a collapse of the dollar (two certainties.) Our govt has already been taken over by global bankers of an elite class that want to decrease the world population from 7 billion to less than 1 billion, AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. That's a lot of dead people and you can be sure it isn't themselves that they want dead. Go to InfoWars period com and start learning about what's really going on in the world that the media isn't telling u

  • @thenewsurvivalist thanks fella, im already done stackin. And yes Alex jones is a gift from God to the people.

  • nice beard

  • I love your beard

  • Good video!

  • @thenewsurvivalist - I notice you have a lot of name brands. Don't forget, the store brands are cheaper and taste just as good as name brand canned goods. Great channel you have here!

  • @NAGGERNUTZ Almost all the brands you see are Aldi's brand. So they are store brands. Check the prices, Aldi's prices beats the others hands down, including the other store brands. They sell quality, at much lower prices...I mean MUCH lower.

  • @thenewsurvivalist - You must be in Alabama. We have Lowe's and Byrd's here in North Carolina. You're right though, the store brands are quality and much lower priced.

  • @NAGGERNUTZ that's actually false if you use coupons, especially if you extreme coupon. I got 20 old spice deodorants for only tax, so 1.56 for all of them. It may seems ridiculous but it is good to stock up, and plus what I don't keep I send over see's to the troops or I donate to homeless shelters. So that isn't always true :)

  • Good advice

  • I saw you on TLC!!! :D

    Pretty cool channel.

  • you and my old man would get along really good :)

  • i saw u on tlc! ur prettty smart on surviving. im sur ur gonna b getin alot moree views now

  • Hope you have a can opener ready hahaha

  • Nice, informative video. Nice beard too.

  • Wow I learned so much thanks for the video

  • @urkingod

canning food is and always will be a great way to prepare and store food that normally wouldn't last long, learning and being able to can your own food in the long run will drastically increase your chances at lasting through a harsh winter, or even a bad growing season...being prepared with food that will last at least a year while being shelf-stable is always your best bet...

  • if ur trying to survive there better not be any left overs lol

  • for u that think can goods arent the best to eat all the time. u are correct but in dyer need they will be a god send.

  • I can't believe these guys go on the internet in a bunker full of food. I mean call me paranoid but I'd be worried that someone is going to figure out where I'm streaming from and when TSHTF I'd have a couple of guys rock up uninvited.

Having said that, the only people who are actually watching this sort of stuff probably have their own stash, even if it isn't quite that big.

  • best used by dates are there to make you throw out food and buy more. Canned foods will last decades after the "Best used by date" as long as the can is in tact

  • @NewWorldDefenders I heard that cans that are rusted should not be used and mine get rusted sometimes before the "best by date"

  • @1111rhn If your storage area is high in humidity then the cans will rust. I have a dehumidifier in mine which keeps the humidity not a problem. If you have a problem with rust then you will certainly have to rotate them into your pantry sooner, but rusted cans CAN be used as long as they are still sealed. In time the rust, if allowed to continue, will destroy the seal, so by all means use them before it becomes a problem.

  • @thenewsurvivalist

they should be cleaned with a scrubby sponge and dried as well when you see the first rust spots on them. the rust will often come right off and stops the process, so prevents it getting through to the inside. also the rust won't come back as quickly as it would have progressed w/out cleaning the cans every so often.

  • I am a believer in storing food, but I have to say that eating all that canned food when you have other options may not be the healthiest thing. Too much salt, not as much nutrition. In an emergency all bets are off, you'll eat the paper off the can if you have to. But in better times, eat better food.

  • @eyesonmedia Did I say anything about eating only canned foods? If you have seen my other videos, you will know that I eat mostly food from my own garden and orchard. I am not perfect, but if everyone ate as healthy as I did, Big Pharma profits would drop a few billion a year.

  • @eyesonmedia im sure these types of people have guns to hunt also and book on what to eat wild im sure they know what there doing

  • wow this guy is ready

  • i hav 8 months of food storage, an 2yrs for water ,this a great video , you hav to buy on a budget to get that much

  • Great video. :D

  • It's official. That is the best food storage I've ever seen on Youtube lol. And you're right about rotating food by putting the newest in the back and bringing the old up front. This what they do in the stores that sells food. Looks like you're well prepared.

  • To the person wanting to eat healthy: If there's an emergency - you won't have time to even care WHAT you are going to eat... some good things to have on hand, dried fruit/veggies.. you can preserve meat by canning it yourself.. can healthy soups.. nuts.. dried berries, herbs, etc.

  • Hello and thanks for the great video. Thank you for being a caring person and sharing your lifestyle with others. My wife and I store what we eat and eat what we store and we agree that having food is the second best thing to having clean water. Eating is something we all do three times a day, seven days a week, 52 weeks a year for every year we are on this planet. It makes perfect sense to us that investing in food is a great hedge against inflation. Thanks again and God bless.

  • What about an earthquake ? that stuff will be all over the place.

I like using milk crates for storage, plus this keeps your food portable

if you need to move it.

  • My friend. If you want to survive I suggest you lose some weight. Nice channel I subscribed.

  • nice info

  • I like this man. He is personable. I just can't get my beard as big as his. I HAVE tried you know. Ho hum....a good simple plan, with simple "Rules of the Food Road", as he presents....why..you just can't beat it. Good stuff!

  • Fuck the nwo. When will people wake up! I have aided a cop in the past hold and secure subject in the past. But since they are now a bunch of criminal thugs of the nwo

and shoot and taze people at a whim and infringe on our rights.I will remain silent and if I see a cop in need of help he will now get my blind eye.

  • i have my ak47.

  • I have the best in storage products!! Check out my blog for the easiest way to get your Home Food Store up and running! Even without changing your budget - wow!

  • You need a Shelf Reliance Food Rotation System for all those cans - it would help a ton for rotating! I have one and I love it and their freeze dried food contains no water so it's really light to carry if you need to take it with you in your bug bag! :)

  • A very well done video. Thanks.

  • I do not ever buy canned food that's nasty. I always try to eat healthy with least meat. Mostly organic fruits and veggies, nuts, and seed as my personal doctor recommended. Food storage is a VERY smart idea tho, I just do not know what to store.... probably Shaklee meal plan. ;-)

  • @urkingod Here is the food storage for you: survivaldoc.myefoods period com

  • @urkingod how fricking wonderfully off topic :/

get what you can, plant a friggin coconut tree in your basement if you will.

+problem -what you got, all the rest is BS

  • @Xarcas sorry, didn't mean to hurt any feelings but + problems and no counter just adds up to the pile of crap you don't want to deal with right now.

And if you can't deal with it now, what use is it in a shtf?

  • @urkingod How about investing in a food dehydrator? At Amazon or at Nesco right now they have one for under $40 then you can buy your favorite organic fruits and veggies on sale and dry them- they are easy to bring back after years of storage by placing them into water- or adding them right into stews etc they will return right back as before you dried them- You can also do this to store more food you like to use even with limited storage space =)

  • your vids are very informative. love the beard btw.

  • do you keep an inventory list or some form of record that helps you keep track of the expiration dates? If so can you share how you do keep track of your food storage.

    THanks for all the information.

  • I have thought of doing what your doing but I hesitate to do so, because I have seen alot of forclosures, and if you lose the house to forclosure, what good is the stored goods going to help you? I know the answer is to own these homes outright but few can afford to do so. I really hope God blesses your efforts.

  • @wolftreetree When you move you can take your food with you.

  • A can of food will last 50 years. Ignore the use by date it is marketing propaganda.

  • @WTU208 Yes, I believe that if cans are kept dry & undamaged, they could even last a lifetime!
