Cool.  The akai can be used with ivoxel as well as the akai DAW app. Music studio v 2 will be perfect for the akai synthstation 25!

so if I have a M-Audio keystation USB Midi keyboard (that doesn't have built-in sounds, just MIDI out via USB)...

I have both iPhone and iPad and just did a youtube search on ipad midi. This seems too good to be true. To much hazzle to hook up the keystation to my computer just to hear something.

This app is great, but the Synth Station 25 is a toy. The keys are tiny, only has RCA and headphones outputs and the power supply doesn't come with it. Get the MIDI Mobilizer from Line 6 for half the price, and you can use this app (and many others) with any keyboard/MIDI controller that has MIDI ports.

Yes, but it can be any keyboard that has MIDI In and Out. I've used it with an Axiom 25, Alesis Micron and Juno Di, and there were no issues. Check out some of the vids for it on here.
