  • Honestly the best way to kill a lobster. I've seen people cut their tails off first and even boiling takes a min or two for death.

    A blade through the head is the best way. Anything after the blade through the head is all nerves.

  • who taught you how to cook lobster? the only way to cook a lobster is to boil it alive or to do what he did. what that technique does is slice the brain in half thus killing the lobster instantly. if you have a problem with it just think about how cows are slaughtered to make that cheese burger you had for lunch.

  • Sorry but I buy my food already dead and sliced and packaged. Including beef. I don't go and kill my meat and would prefer to not know how it is done.   • idk how you would be so ignorant to food. lobster is extremely perishable vigor mortise will happen as soon as the lobster is killed the only parts of the lobster you can buy already prepared is the lobster tails but the quality is not there. its just the way it has to be done fresh is best. dont start being all high and mighty just because you buy your food cooked and frozen so all you have to do is nuke it so you can cook it. read some info on lobsters preperation before you judge.

  • Sorry, thats what fresh it. You have to kill them regardless to cook them. Either cut them in half instantly or let them have a slow painful death in the water while you hear a screech come from them. Id prefer the slicing. If you dont wanna kill it yourself you can always have the super market stream it for you. Either way we kill it. all animals.. I do admit it does look wierd but that seafood for ya.

  • Ummm - and how would you kill them? Lethal injection, or hanging? Splitting the thorax is just about the fastest way to kill them, short of high explosives. I'll bet lots of people going "poor lobster" have no problem stepping on a roach or swatting a fly - same arthropod nervous system, regardless of what you saw in 'Little Mermaid', so what's the difference? (except flies have very little claw meat)
