  • this video is crap. Soviet troops killed two million civilians and left Afghanistan. the journalist in the video has nothing to do with Afghanistan because he had never been there. I was born in Soviet Union, I know a lot of Afghan war veterans and all they say about the war in Afghanistan have nothing to remember with pride

  • This video is aimed on brainless morons. It just acts on emotions and people's ignorance, without providing any real reason\cause\effect\purpose connections. A typical mindless propaganda. Look how many idiotic "uh-oh, killing innocents" comments here are.

  • American Involvement in Wars: US vs. Great Britain(1812-15) Texas vs. Mexico(1836) US vs. Mexico(1846-48) U.S. Civil War(1861) US vs. Spain(1898) world war 1 world war 2-Nuclear attacs(1945) Korean War(1950-53) Vietnam War(1960-75) US vs. Cuba(1961) US vs. Panama(1989) Intervention in Bosnia and Herzegovina(1995-96) invasion of Afghanistan(2001) invasion of Iraq (2003) who is terrorist?
  • @shamiking1 just because the US has been involved in these wars it doesn't make it a terrorists.

  • What the fuck is so important in Afghanistan?!... Get out and leave it alone!

  • @GigglinMarley Why is Afghanistan so important ? 1st. The Caspian sea Oil-Gas Reserves, the UNOCAL company is building oil pipelines to untap these MASSIVE oil-gas reserves. 2nd. Within Afghanistan , it has 1 Trillion dollars worth of Untapped Metals/ Minerals and other resources (google this your self) . 3rd. Opium , 4th. Geo-strategic location, its next to China, Russia and India and Iran. Perfect Military advantage point. This war has nothing to do with 'al qaeda' and 'taliban' .

  • @GigglinMarley The taliban actually was going to sign a contract with UNOCAL to build this pipeline back in 1999 , but they signed the contract with BRIDAS instead, because BRIDAS was offering more money to the Talibs. The talibs would have simply signed the contract with UNOCAL if UNOCAL offered more money. But UNOCAL was to greedy ,so they invaded Afganistan , after sept 11.

  • Well, we all know that all western troops have to leave Afganistan sooner or later (the sooner, the better). That country is absolutely impossible to take under control of any foreign military forces. I just wonder why americans were so naive and didn't ask russians.

Please tell Obama that operation in Afganistan is nothing but bif fiasco and just another post-imperialistic action against poor country.

  • @pelontorjunta "That country is absolutely impossible to take under control of any foreign military forces." How are you going to ever pacify the country if soldiers who are shot at from a mosque ( a most common ambush position) aren't allowed to counterattack or even answer the fire out of fear of being put before a military tribunal by their superiors for "desecrating or damaging a holy place of worship"?With such "rules" and practices in force what you can wage is just a phoney war.

  • funny that he mentioned the Russian helicopters the pentagon wants to order these mi 6 helicopters from Russia

  • russia defeated ... soon it will be US n Nato turn to be defeated

  • @nawojan123 "russia defeated" ? Russia wasn't defeated. It conducted some 400 major military operations between 1979-1989 without losing a single time. Even Russian losses compared to losses inflicted by Russians are a good indicator who was the loser - 14000 against c. 1 000 000.The decision to withdraw the troops was politically motivated. Militarily, the Russians were unbeatable despite all the US arsenals dispatched to Afghanistan via Pakistani military camps and bases .

  • @Turksarebarbarians agreed with u. but this aspect was already discussed in the video. a former soldier said that they won the battles but not the war. when u clear out a village today, the next day there is resistance again. either u continue this until EVERY afganian is dead (and by EVERY i mean EVERYONE even children, women and other civilists) or u just stop the war. i think if USA, etc will send their soldiers home, the country gona stabilize itself...

  • @cccpredarmy , In Afganistan the Russians fought not so much with the illietrate and uncivilized "mujaheddins" that were easily routed and decimated in the first months of 1980 when they were foolish enough to openly defy the Red Army. This changed as the US entered the war in Afghanistan and thus altered its nature and rules.

  • Without the massive US intervention between 1979-1989 Afghanistan would resemble today any former Soviet Central Asian Republic-pacified,quiet,stagnating, yet with some basic social and cultural reforms like universal education and rights for women. At any event,it would be a much better alternative to the drug-exporting mysogaenic monster it is now by the grace of US whose aim to be there seems to conist in the profit it gets from the opium war the new Afghanistan wages on the rest of the world.

  • @cccpredarmy Now you say "when u clear out a village today, the next day there is resistance again. either u continue this until EVERY afganian is dead (and by EVERY i mean EVERYONE even children, women and other civilists) or u just stop the war." Well, during the Afghan civil war many villges and simple people welcomed the Soviets who brought land reforms, medical care, protected the weaker villages against their predatory neighbours,so not all villages had to be levelled to the ground.

  • Now you say 'when u clear out a village today, the next day there is resistance again. either u continue this until EVERY afganian is dead (and by EVERY i mean EVERYONE even children, women and other civilists) or u just stop the war.' During the Afghan civil war many villges and towns welcomed the Soviets who brought land reforms, medical care, protected the weaker villagers against their predatory neighbours,so not all villages had to be levelled to the ground.

  • @cccpredarmy, In tribal areas like Pushoonistan the situation is different with their eternal feuds and bloodsheds. There the old saying by Hafizulla Amin is always valid "Kill them all!If you don't, they will kill you".In these barbarian societies the distinction between a civilian(woman, child) and a combatant is hardly applicable.Children can torture and murder prisoners, shoot at the back of unsuspecting soldiers, collect intelligence, distribute narcotics.Women are as dangerous...

  • @cccpredarmy What will you do with such an enemy realistically speaking? ... My only hope is that they will exterminate themselves with their own Moslem hands.Life expectancy in Afghanistan is one of the lowest in the world and the death ratio is among the highest. Both indicators might be enhanced even further given some political wlll and action. They should start fighting more tribal wars and cosuming their own heroin which they produce (90% in the world) to poison and destroy us.

  • "i think if USA, etc will send their soldiers home, the country gona stabilize itself..." During the Gorbatchov era they thought that when the Russian troops were back , Afghanistan would get stabilized. What happened was the contrary to these naive expectations. As long as the Russians stayed Kabul was an intact city.It was changed into ruins when nobody was there to protect it.When the US troops leave another civil war will erupt in Afghanistan between the local tribes, sects and drug lords.

  • The only solution is for outsiders to stop coming into Asia/Middle East and imposing their versions of liberty, democracy, and all that jingoism. They should realize people function differently in different parts of the world. Every community, country builds its own society and they will fuck you if you tell them how to think and breathe.

  • @fcgfgcfg "The only solution is for outsiders to stop coming into Asia/Middle East and imposing their versions of liberty, democracy, and all that jingoism." I agree. These savages should be contained in their cesspool, prevented from leaving their Moslem paradises and export jihad to the civilized countries and allowed , even encouraged to practice their traditional cannibalism at home - sunnis slaughtering shi'as , the Iranians sending their mahdis and agents to Mecca and Yemen etc. etc. ...

  • It's time to leave Afghanistan. Unlike Iraq, I initially supported this campaign because there seemed to be a legitimate job to do there. Now it's clear that we are making the same mistakes that the Soviets and the British before them made. In fact, I wonder how the Brits feel being there again? It would be like us returning to Vietnam all over. Yes, the so-called "holy warriors" will likely gloat over their pyhrric victory, but we're just going to have to deal with it. World policing sucks

  • The comparision of the Soviet experience and our experienc is wrong. We were attacked and now seek revenge. We actually do not need to "win" in Afghanistan, we only need to disrupt our enemies. Basically we have punished those who supported Ben Laden and company. Now OBL is surely dead and Al Queda is moribund. We will poision the well and leave Afghanistan with a weakened Taliban and armed opposition to them strong. That is the real plan. Within two years all the troops will be out.

  • @chairde The US planned to attack Afghanistan even before the raid on Manhattan and Washington.

  • Truly a brave video

  • If there were more women in the House and Senate, we NEVER would have voted to go to war. Never. This is a flexing of testosterone-driven alpha males.

  • @rff2206 All the women in the house and senate voted for both wars when we started them. Hillary keeps advocating wars, as did Thatcher, Bhutto, Indira.

  • if this was the the 19th century or early 20th century, europeans would not have to trouble over "humanitarianism" and get some shit done. You cannot expect to beat a viscous foe without equal or superior viciousness. America does not understand that when they kill a muslim, a couple of days later, one of his 8 sons will just shoot at him.

  • Afganistan war is stuped sink of money that US dealing with. That will destroy financial market in US and then US will lose number 1 position in World. Also I predict US will change after this war.

  • @atabai1 i agree with you the russians tried it and failed doing so its just sucking money into a country that has no government...its anarchy in that country and if we dont get out soon i think we might collapse like USSR did in iraq we can "win" because we can set up a democracy and let them get on their own feet but in a-stan its just pure anarchy theres no point....we went in looking for osoma ..hes not there...LETS GO HOME

  • @Apolloisbest no im not for the wars but i think iraq will grow as a democracy because of what the colalition of the willing has done..i think that the country will really become strong once their goverment is on its feet and they have a powerful military...just so sad so many had to die for somthing like that...but thats the way the world works cant change it no matter what we do

  • 0.19 this is wrong at any point in time there was not more than 150,000 soviet soldiers in A-stan the experts said they needed 300,000 troops to get the job done. Gorbatchev decided that the pullout was a better optio.

  • @JASHVEER22 it's diff war if you think that number will change result. Look at 2.28 document.

  • yet another example of america destroying the world and raping the people... don't trust them, the time will come.

  • Russian were fools they invaded Afghanistan. US and NATO were invited by Afghans in the Bonn conference. 90 % Afghans support the international forces in Afghanistan. Afghanistan had become a school of terrorism and female education and jobs were totally banned. The Arabs were the rulers of Afghanistan. Their is a big difference in USSR invation and US presence. US and NATO are in Afghanistan under the UN resolution.

  • @Watangul So what's the diff between resolution if it's support occupation? I've just don't get it in my mind.

  • Afghanistan had become a no man land. The country had no embassy , no flag, Arabs were ruling according to their will and wish. Afghans were like hostages. Occupation is not under UNO resolution. When the peace returns a single soldiers cannot stay for a single day in Afghanistan.

  • @Watangul arabs have never had a rule over Afghanistan. simple fact.

  • What i wana say that there is one Dr Najibullah a brave person a country and his people loving legend i respect Hamid Karzai no one can be compare with him that 's fact.

  • @PUSTOONKHWA

No one can be compare with Dr Najibullah Shaheed love Najbullah.

  • ya brother Dr najeebulla shaheed love all afghan pashtun,s

  • I'm curious how they factor in the American arming of the Mujahadeen to bolster their ability to make war and to resist Soviet occupation.

I also don't believe that this video supports it's own premise of us making the same mistakes as the Soviets. I'm NOT saying that we should just keep on doing what we're doing but I disagree with the 'evidence' that this video claims to provide.

  • @nlp3000 This is not evidence this is a facts or group of facts that have been occured in time of soviet occupation. Also it's not situation that can't be solved now, but mistakes that happends is the same.

  • The Brits won many battles against the Americans in the Revolution too. Yet, they lost here. Americans experienced the same situation in Vietnam. We can punish, but we can not change minds against their will.

  • @je5752 hahaha the people are the taliban! Your a retard im afghan im a taliban? Fuckin illeterate fuck

  • and amercia should SHUT HTE FUCK UP! look what they are doing in Afghanistan

  • haha if we learned. russia went back cuz they realized that it was wrong

  • Money is the bottom line of this war-Five trillion cubic meter of gas reserves, gold reserves, uranium reserves and other precious metals in afghanistan....thats worth hundreds of trillions of dollars....thats what anglo-europeans are after and that what soviets were after. But the real interesting question is would they get all that pie?

  • WORLD PEACE NOW!

    Om

  • @Lost8Wizard

    no such thing

  • Religion is not the issue. The issue is an illegal occupation against people who are poverty stricken and hate being occupied.

  • @skeebcraven AmenBrother

  • @skeebcraven "Religion is not the issue."Jihad (9.05 "Kill the infidels wherever you find them ..." ) is of course the main problem. Then comes opium produced in Afghanistan - the most important drug-driven economy in the world and mountains of arms accumulated there. So if somone doesn't occupy and control this dysfunctional country it will plunge into chaos of civil war, criminality and narcotics.Afghanistan was created as an artificial state and has remained so until today.

  • If one argues that this war is not a war of occupation or colonialism, how can anyone explain the more than 800 military bases around the world? Security? September 11 proved that our over bloated military could not do anything about it. I think of the opening scene of the movie REDS where Jack Reed is asked to talk about his experiences in WW1 to a group of pro-war aristrocrats. What's the war about, they ask. "Profits", he says. Corporations are making a killing off war.

  • @8696jesus September 11, i hear about this everyday, will you brag about this shit until you die? how many died a mere 2,500? Because of that already 200,000+ afghans have died due to "terrorism".. This is bullying

  • You seem to miss the point of my argument. What I point out is that the only winners in war are the weapons manufacturers and companies that deal with occupations. The military industrial complex is maintained as an excuse for "security" but that did not stop the events of 9-11 from happening. The longer wars continue, the more money is being raked in by the arms industry.

  • I wonder how you will feel if an army of Chinese soldiers treated you they same way, dipshit-would you go out and fight, like the Wolverines? Or would you curl up behind your computer and pee your pants like the chickenhawk Keyboard Kommando that you most likely are? BTW, why aren't you in Afghanistan now, in the Army?

  • If there is one important thing, that the USA should do to bring prosperity and peace to other lands. Is to stop believing that muscle and a fire power will bring respect. to America. Instead focus fixing your home country within, before venturing into a war that only Afghan fighters will win because time is in their side while Americans have the watches.

  • I hope and pray that the surge works but I am dubious for the stated and obvious reasons.

  • The only thing the US has in it's favor, this time around, is the fact that there isn't another super-power pouring in billions of dollars in funding to the Afghan resistance.

Which might mean it will simply take longer to lose.

  • WRONG!

  • 9/11 was an inside job. How did al Qaeda get NORAD to stand down? How did they change the laws of physics to get kerosene to melt structural steel? How did they get congress to appoint such clowns for the investigation? How did they make building 7 fall at free-fall speed even though it was not hit by any plane?

  • xjlmt -

Oh you're one of those loons!

Isn't it a shame Obama has been President for a year and he hasn't brought forward for the American public your silly accusations of the Bush administration?

All I want for Christmas is a brutal death for the Taliban!

  • @xjlmt even though you will get flamed for this, you speak the truth.

  • You're another stupid who's never been in combat except for on your PC. Get your things together and go over there and try what your preaching other wise sit down and watch this government go into the darkness watching over their POPPIE PLANTS. that's our purpose over there fool.

  • During WWI it was the pansy Libs that dropped two Atomic Bombs onto the Japanese.

The Japanese are lucky a right wing gun nut President wasn't in charge during WWII.

If I was President of the USA I would go after the Taliban like we did to the Japs during WWII and annihilate those women hating slobs.

There would be no POW's they would be shot right where they stand.

  • Guy, you justify why I personally love to insult people like you with the sentence 'brainwashed warmongering right-wing neocon chickenhawk Keyboard Kommando.' That is just what you are.

  • Let's see, if it wasn't for the USA the Soviets would have been beaten by the Nazi's.

If the USA can beat the German's and the Japanese then we can beat the Taliban goats.

Let's see, we beat two countries that build Mercedes, Porsche, Audi, BMW, VW, Toyota/Lexus, Honda/Acura, Nissan/Infiniti and all kinds of other things and we can beat the the pigs of the Taliban.

  • @JSMcCainRocks I want you to come to my channel and watched the first documentary film (specially for you, I brought him in the first place).

  • Obama wasn't a member of the Taliban, but an American politician serving in the Senate-have you lost your mind? Or did you destroy it with Faux Noise and beer?

  • The war in Afghanistan was not and is not some colonial war but a war against those who supported and protected OBL. Always remember that it was America who was attacked.

  • you mean the missile that hit pentagon with an entry point no bigger than your asshole, was actually one of those mother-fucking jumbo burgers you flip everyday to pay your internet bills? you probably aren't sharp in the head to figure out why bldg #7 fell at the speed of a rock as hard as your nuts...don't worry, red neck hicks don't get this joke.

  • Attacked because of long standing American foreign policies. If you think American innocence is part of the greater equation, then you need to read the experts. The speaker is right, its hubris that make the US think what its doing is right.

  • You and I will never agree because I do not believe in killing innocent people. It was wrong then and it is wrong now.

  • You are right! Killing innocent people is wrong.

9/11, the Siege of Fallujah, Massacre at Mazar-e-Sharif, and Massacre at Farah....all have something in common. Innocent people died

  • Right. The bottom line is that religion is not the focus by the people in Afghanistan. It is a tribal country with many different views. The occupation by other countries of their lands is the focus. That is creating hatred and more poverty and has been going on for years. The children left without parents will not forget and will grow up to hate those who killed their loved ones.

As singer Tony Bennett wrote in an article in an AARP magazine that, "War is the lowest form of human behaviour."

  • @chairde obl died in tora bora, so what's the big deal.

  • If only you weren't so naiive, JSMcCainRocks. The Taliban are winning greatly.

  • Here in the U.S., we always believe that we are right, that it is "their" fault because they don't believe. We've believed that we are number one but believing is nothing compared to the reality that we have been corrupted by our own illusions. We are bankrupt, we are in financial dept to the word, people are left unemployed, and yet Americans are sold on the idea that one man can "change" the country when in reality, he is part of the system. I voted for Ralph Nader and that was real change.

  • I salute you-at least you and others like you had more sense and didn't fall for somebody because he looks super handsome or because 'he's a brother like us' (the Afro-American reason, which as an Afro-American I think is just as bad as whites voting because a candidate is white.)

  • Why is it such a mystery why the US or no other country can't win in Afghanistan? Afghanistan is symbolic for Muslims and they will continue to fight there forever. Its no different than if China invaded America or if Korea invaded Japan. The people would fight for a thousand years before ever surrendering. The US must deal with that reality.

  • @projectdurden "Why is it such a mystery why the US or no other country can't win in Afghanistan?" You ask a right question but give an absurd answer.A nation of 95% illiterate savages that didn't have a single arms factory couldn't oppose the Red Army for a day.If it did it was because it was fully supplied, armed and trained by a third party -the US.The Red Army was waging a war by proxy against America in Afghanistan between 1979-1989.

  • @projectdurden Now imagine the disaster befalling the NATO troops in Afghanistan if Russia were conducting today the same strategy as the US were doing then ! In other words, the Russian soldier had a much more difficult task than the US soldier today in Afghanistan who is fighting just the Moslem savages while the Russians were fighting in fact all the formidable US war and propaganda machine standing behind those Moslem savages and their backward medieval "ideals".

  • @projectdurden Mongols was able to defeat Afghanistan.

  • @projectdurden The german in invasion of Saint Petersburg is also a great example... But dammit, why is the human race always at war?!

  • I shake my head in disbelief. I remember at the time we were saying Afghanistan is the U.S.S.R's Vietnam. Here we are doing the same stupid mistakes again and repeating the same errors we made in Vietnam.

  • "Merry Christmas" Afghanistan from the Christian nation of America.

P.S. Santa will be riding not a sleigh, but a 'Predator' drone looking for who was naughty and then send a 'Hellfire' missile down your chimney.

Christians are the only ones who don't understand that Christ taught non-violence.

  • America will repeat the same mistakes. The thing is that America already know this. America is lead by corporate bankers and the Military Industrial Complex and these benefit from wars. We are so fucked and no I'm not being pessimistic...just being truthful.

  • Except when they "mistakenly" bomb a whole wedding party, or kill families with children in them.

This foreign occupation will fail like all the other occupations by outsiders of Afghanistan.

What a farce -- since we are supporting the Northern Alliance -- a group of warlord and drug lord thugs who rape and kill women and their families. We are hypocrites of the greatest magnitude, repeating all the errors of history... and killing and maiming innocent Afghans for selfish geopolitics.

  • Hey Libs,

It was the Republicans that freed the black slaves.

It was you Libs that dropped two atomic bombs onto the innocent Japanese children.

  • Who fought for civil rights?

  • I'm disappointed that hypocritical Zionist, Alan Grayson, is part of this endeavor.

  • We're not in Afghanistan to fight Afghanistan, we're in Afghanistan to SURROUND IRAN.

  • resist the pirates and aliens...

  • @ceomeye, who are the pirates and aliens?

  • The U.S, The soviets, The british; pirates and aliens who invade and occupy. This is not a war. A war is against another army thats well equipped. The so called war in the middle East is a Full Invasion of Modern Day Pirates by the United States and Europe.

  • @ceomeye

"Pirate" would imply that we're out to steal from Afghanistan. But they are desperately poor and have nothing to steal. Oil pipeline access through their country is worth something maybe, but not enough to justify a war. So I don't think we're pirates. But, I have to be honest and say I really don't know why we're there still 8 years after going after bin Laden. Just inertia and hubris, I guess. As LBJ once said, "I don't want to be the first President to lose a war."

  • @xXxG1LLYxXx That's a Myth.

  • @MovingClouds123

you know its true..you cant deny it ..Check your history, not that you have much to look @ but look...Its common knowlage that the US armed them SCROAT

  • The USA armed the Northern Alliance.

If I was President I would order the US troops to beat the brains out of all the Taliban men the second they are caught.

  • Why don't you go back and watch FOOTBALL where you probably belong seeing as you don't understand what planet you're on.

  • Who profits from this war ????

Follow the money... China, China, China & Corporate America.

  • Vote Ron Paul in 2012 and these wars will be ended!!!

  • My only problem with this analogy is that the US helped the Taliban defeat the Soviet Union in the 80's. So, this leads me to two questions: Could they have done it without our help then? And can they do it now?

  • @shDwfthSUN the taliban didn't exist then, they came about in the nineties.
