How our one did not best those is beyond me. I thought this contest was suppose to be which one was the most realistic, and one that makes the viewers go "OMG, I really want to watch the full movie". None of them are even realistic. Fxhome ruined the whole contest.
To me Danny's Friends seems the most like a real movie. I tend to look for deep meaning in films and in that one I noticed interesting foreshadowing in the thing with the BB gun and the real one. That also brings up the controversy of kids and gun violence, so that in itself has potential of an interesting story. I also wonder if there is symbolism there. It also makes me wonder if the kid is crazy or are they're really ghosts or whatever? I see a lot there with only one actor.
just wanna say, i'm not jealous because my entry was not on the list, i am an open minded person, win or lose is part of competition.. but it seen like the short listed entry was not so good, there were better entry then the Fxhome shortlist..
I think people are mostly mad because they want feedback as to why they were not in the top 5. With a 100 plus trailers to view it's hard to give feedback. And it depends on how many judges were watching and how they chose the trailers. Did everyone clear the music or images? It was done by YouTube posting, this is not a film festival just a contest to promote a company and it's products. Everyone thinks their project was great and rightfully so, but they thought what supports their vision.
I appreciate the opportunity, to be in this contest. It's FXHome's contest, so many should stop gripping. If you don't agree with it get some sponsors and start your own. They chose based on the criteria and rules set by them. Relax, and enjoy. Doesn't matter how you feel, or whose not in the top 5. They chose, their choice.
As a suggestion, let the audience pick the top five. Then Judge based on the selections. It makes it easier. Good day, nice products.
like an "advanced" slow motion bullet effect. not like the one you see on video copilot. more professional. using the camera mapping technique with more camera movement. i could really use that camera :(
I knew i wouldn't win or get on the shortlist. but its like...really? I can tell the people on the shortlist wont even know how to use the dang camera. All they will do with it is take some standard pictures, which would be easily done with a point and shoot type camera from Walmart. See if I had that camera....i would do tooons of camera mapping with Maya or 3ds max and make professional vfx shots and actually do it right. just sayin....

Well I remember watching a couple of those trailers and thinkin 'this is awesome!'. There will always be people bitching that they didnt win, but in all honestly fxhome did a great job.
With that hoola hoop one, sure its not the best filmed, but thats not the point. They had an interesting story line with good costume and props. You cant just After Effect everything and make it good ;)
