President Obama speech WAS brilliant, he expressed my own innermost thoughts and feelings. He has a larger view of things than most people, and I, for one, am very thankful for that! I am proud of my President for his dignity and humility in the face of madness, and doubly appreciative that I don't have to be embarrassed by his manner of speech, as I always was with gw bush. At least President Obama has a Heart and a Brain!

It's not really Obama's fault. Normally the teleprompter uses Phonetic transcription for the difficult words. So one word out of thousands during this speech was overlooked and the president made a mistake, big deal. Kudos to the input people for making the president normally appear articulate.

Listen starting about 4:00 -- Pres. Obama, the commander in chief, mis-pronounces "corpsman" 3 times in the next 40 seconds in his illustration. Now if Pres. Bush or VP Quayle or Gov. Palin had stubbed their tongue in such a similar manner, there would be no end to the howls about their intellect. The lame media give Obama a pass.

MSLSD would have this as their LEAD STORY for a week! (if it was a Republican) This is our "commrade in chief" - no wonder he took so long to decide to fund the troops! I agree civility would be a great. The media tendency to state rumours as facts and put on the most extreme demagogues who say the most ridiculous thing is damaging the country. It turns people from politcs, too, which is part of the reason they do it.
